Sermon Title: The Work of the Holy Spirit
Scripture:  John 16:5-16

This Sunday, we will continue to unpack incredible Holy Ghost stories in scripture. We will zero-in on the "work," the particular focus of the Holy Spirit. Jesus identifies this focus in John 16:14 when He says, " He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me." We will discover that the Spirit works to glorify Jesus and draw people to the truth that is found only in Christ. So join us Sunday for another round of Holy Ghost Stories.
Sign up now to help with FallFest on Oct. 19 at J.B. Williams Park

FallFest will take place  Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  at J.B. Williams Park on Five Forks Trickum Road. We need your help to make this a special event for our community and church family.

Here’s a quick overview of the servants needed to staff the event:

  • At least 35 individuals to help with other activities. Specifically, we need people to watch over inflatables, serve food, staff sno-cone and popcorn machines, and oversee our cupcake walk, face painting and photo booth, as well as assist with set-up and tear-down.

You can help the church staff immensely by signing up now (use the links above), so we have a good sense of the available resources to stage the event. If you have questions, please contact Jim Barber by  email  or at 404-268-6981.
Forward Sunday set for Oct. 20
Event will feature a catered meal and lots of doubles
MC3's second annual Forward Sunday--our chance to reflect on the Lord's blessings over the past year and look Forward to the year to come--will take place Sunday, Oct. 20.

This year's Forward Sunday will include a catered meal in the cafeteria at Parkview immediately following our worship service. In addition, we're looking for some doubles and a double-double when it comes to our offering.

Both the Children and Student ministries will use Forward Sunday for a Double Day--when their members are asked to bring a guest and dress like each other.

Meanwhile, we are asking for a Double-Double when it comes to the offering, which is our way of basically seeking an offering at least four times the usual total. As you know, we have experienced lower-than-expected giving this year, and are hoping to use the Double-Double offering on Forward Sunday to help close the gap between income and expenses for the church. Please be praying about your tithes and offerings on Oct. 20.

Rajan Ipe, president of Kerala Christian Mission, will be our guest speaker for Forward Sunday. Our church launched Rajan's mission work in India in the 1970s and we have been faithful supporters of his ministry--which now includes more than 50 churches--ever since.

Tailgate at Parkview this Thursday

You're invited to a Fellowship Freestyle Tailgate Party on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 5:30-7 p.m. at Parkview High School in the 9th Grade Academy parking lot (located to the left of the gym. Look for the MC3 Flag).

We will grill Hot Dogs, play Cornhole, and have a blast. All you need to do is bring a dish to share (bag of chips, your favorite Mac-N-Cheese, etc.) and a chair.

You are welcome to stay for the game ($7 admission), but it's not required. This is just a great way for us to gather together and enjoy fun and fellowship.
Help set the vision for MC3's Women's Ministry and fill Angel Bags
Join us for a time of fellowship on  Oct. 17  at 6:30pm at the home of Jean Bugg (4806 Kenilworth Drive, Stone Mountain) as we help SOAR Ministries assemble Angel bags. While working together, it is our hope that we can talk about the future of the Women’s Ministry of MC3. We need your input and ideas – and, most of all, your loving heart and willing hands.
