An update for the MC3 family from Art Stansberry
As you probably know, churches in Georgia have been cleared to resume worship gatherings. MC3 Church is actively monitoring the ongoing developments with COVID-19 and we have decided to maintain all worship gatherings—including Sunday mornings and C-Groups—online for at least the next two weeks.

Our decision is somewhat reinforced by the fact that Parkview High School facilities are closed for public gatherings until at least the end of May. However, as our state returns to more normal daily life, we also want to look at the effect on public health trends, including new infections and deaths, before resuming any official gatherings. We want to do our best to protect the health and wellbeing of the MC3 family and community.

As I mentioned during the opening of Sunday’s worship service, when we finally do resume in-person meetings, we expect to start with small gatherings such as C-Groups, or perhaps in a park where we can stay socially distanced.

In the meantime, we are pleased with the results of the online worship service. We definitely had a couple of hiccups with sound issues on two consecutive Sundays, but the issues have been resolved and online attendance is exceeding our regular attendance before the coronavirus crisis. We also have started additional online outreach efforts—including 2-Minute Devotions each week and the 7@7 Wednesday messages for students—that are literally being watched by thousands of people on social media.

If you’re not already part of an online C-Group, please consider joining one. We have five adult C-Groups meeting via Zoom ( see the complete schedul e), and they are enjoying incredible discussions and growing deeper relationships with each other and Christ.

While operating in the current environment has required significant change in church life, we also want to remind everyone that our staff and leadership continue to actively look for a permanent location for a new church home. Most recently, we looked at a potential site between the Parkview and Brookwood school districts. It was an attractive option, but the rental and renovation costs exceeded the church’s means.

As you know, MC3’s leadership started the search process with a goal of keeping the church in the Parkview school district. That remains our goal, but we recently expanded the search to include neighboring locations beyond the Parkview district. We believe the Lord has called us to the Parkview community, but slightly expanding our search area could also give us more options for a new home.

As always, should you be aware of any potential sites—vacant buildings, churches for sale, commercial property, etc.—please email or call Jim Barber, and we will follow up. Likewise, if you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Jim or any of our church elders.

Yours in Christ

Armor of God: Why righteous living matters
Sermon Title: Righteousness
Scripture:     Ephesians 6:10-14

This Sunday, we will continue to focus on gearing up for the spiritual battle that we face. Paul says in Ephesians 6:14, "   Stand firm then . . . with the breastplate of righteousness in place." There is no doubt that righteous living guards our hearts from the impact of sin. We will discuss how to avoid the traps and snares of temptation and sin that can lead to spiritual death. Join us this Sunday as we highlight the importance of righteousness in our lives.
Help your children put on the armor of God

FOOTSTEPS is excited to announce a new series of lessons called the Armor of God for Children.

This new series is now available and will serve as a companion piece to the current Armor of God messages being taught by Art Stansberry on Sunday mornings. The series will include short video lessons about the six Bible characteristics in the Armor of God. In addition, we will show a simple craft/art project the children can do each week.

New lessons will be posted on the MC3 Church website and emailed to all parents as well. Parents, please get either some cardboard boxes or poster board your children can use, along with a clean and empty milk carton and aluminum foil. You probably have the other items such as markers and scissors. Please take pictures of the darling children and their craft and email them to Rae Tyler Caggiula. (You never know where these pictures may appear!)

This week's first installment runs just 10 minutes and explains what the Armor of God is and how children need to rely on the Belt of Truth to guide their ways. It was emailed to parents Sunday, and we hope you will spend important time watching the message with your children and talking about lessons learned.

Won’t it be great to study the same series together? (Adults: So sorry. No crafts for you!)

The Skit Guys are coming on Wednesday

Looking for some hope and humor? Bedtime Bible Stories with The Skit Guys is exactly that. Every night, Tommy and Eddie will share a Bible story with you, make you laugh, and point you to the hope we find in Jesus.

These funny and godly bedtime stories will be available to you starting this Wednesday. Look for the email. They will replace the Wonderful Wednesday videos we have shared over the past six weeks.

Angel Whispers . . .

Each week when the 2-year-old spends the day with his “Grammy,” she shows him her Bible and says “This is God’s Holy Word.” When she opens to the pages, the little boy says, “All His Wuuuurrds are true!” Thanks, Brooks!
