What does it mean to love your neighbor?
Sermon Title: The Parable of the Rich Fool
Scripture: Luke 12:13-21

This Sunday, we will continue our series in the book of Luke. We will unpack an incredible story from Jesus that reminds us that we need to make sure that we are "rich towards God." What does that mean? Join us Sunday as we unpack this passage and discover what it looks like to be rich towards God.
Mark Bebout selected to serve as an elder for MC3
Mark Bebout has been selected as a new elder for MC3 Church.

Mark and his wife Susan have been members of MC3 and Mount Carmel Christian Church since 1982. They have been married 46 years and have two sons, Michael and Bryan, and two grandsons.

In addition to his ongoing role as a deacon at MC3, Mark has a long history of service to the church. He has overseen security for various church events, been a key member of the Church Builders group, and taught in our children’s ministry.

Mark, who replaces Jay Wright on the elder board, retired from a 30-year career in computer operations at Georgia State University in 2004 and is trying to retire from his own home repair business, although job requests continue to come his way.

MC3 is blessed to have someone with Mark’s personal integrity and commitment to Christ to come alongside our current elders in ministering to the needs of our congregation. An ordination service will be scheduled once the COVID crisis eases and MC3 returns to a normal operating schedule.
The Parable of The Rich Farmer

Children are always comparing their own “stuff” to that of their friends and peers. It is easy for them to focus on having the next, coolest, trendiest new thing rather than spending their time, effort and money pursuing what lasts.

This week’s lesson will help children see that things they may acquire here on earth don’t last, but a relationship with God is eternal! The hardworking and responsible farmer who amassed wealth did not appear to have such a relationship.

Remember: A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.

Online VBS with Crosspoint Christian Church in Yonkers, New York

Ninety-Five (95!!!) children from Crosspoint Christian Church, MC3 Church and children from other parts of New York, Philadelphia, India and Dubai participated in last week's online Vacation Bible School. It was overwhelming!

What an honor, privilege and joy to teach God’s Holy Word to little preschoolers! It was also w i l d, in that class! I do know, however, that those little ones learn differently than I do (thank goodness!) and that they did learn more than I thought!

My heartfelt thanks to Keri Duncan, SOAR Ministries, Wendy Duncan and Melinda Wilson for inviting us to participate. We will always be grateful for Crosspoint. Our team in New York was wonderful!

We had special guests, Mrs. Joanie Grimm and Rajan Ipe, speak to us. It was amazing!

Ava Davis was the only child from MC3, who had perfect attendance, learned all her Scripture Memory verses, and Bible Points. We are so very proud of her! An anonymous someone donated a gift for her!

What a joy!

Angel Whispers ...

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5 and Ryan 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.'" Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!" Thanks, Ryan!

Angel Sightings ...

Definitely Keri Duncan, for orchestrating the online Zoom VBS! Thanks, Keri!

Each Wednesdays a link is sent for the coming week’s episodes. You can find them at this link as well:

They are funny! We all need funny!

The first child who emails me with the scripture that says that God laughs and tells me what God laughs at will win a prize! Oh boy!
