A message from Art
Sermon Title: Belief
Scripture:   Mark 9:24

The building and strengthening of our faith is a lifelong process of learning and growing in Christ. When I think about my own faith, I often identify with the father in Mark 9 who exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief." This Sunday we will track the growth pattern of the disciples and unpack how we can grow in our belief of Jesus.
C-Groups going to war
Two of our Wednesday night C-groups are going to war!

Starting this Wednesday, the 9:37 and Family C-Groups will begin a new Bible study based on Chip Ingram’s book, The Invisible War . The study will focus on the battle faced by Christians against demonic forces in this world. The Bible clearly teaches that Satan is on mission to destroy God’s people. And the problem is, Satan doesn’t announce his temptations and schemes. Instead, he’s very secretive as he attempts to lead Christians down a delicate, subtle, gradual path of deception.

Based on Ephesians 6 , The Invisible War will help participants learn how to defend themselves and their families against Satan’s daily attacks.

The 9:37 C-Group meets in the home of Art and Christy Stansberry while the Family C-Group meets at the home of Jered and Hope Stills. Both groups run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays, and participants are asked to bring a dish that can be served to everyone prior to the lesson. The Family C-Group also has a nursery and a C-Group for children in the fifth grade and under.
Special Thanks!

We truly appreciate HOPE STILLS for lovingly stepping up to serve once a month as a Lead Teacher for the Preschool Department! Thank you, Hope !

SHEILA MCGAUGHEY has sweetly offered to serve in sending our darling children birthday cards. Since children seldom get mail and love their birthdays, they will think this is wonderful! Thank you, Sheila!

Students and YAMs:
What's smaller than a party but bigger than a hangout?
The MC3 Student Ministry is having a kickback this Sunday at Will and Helena's from 4-7 p.m. "Kickbacks" are smaller than a party, but bigger than a hangout," says MC3 Student Minister Will Tyler. "It's like a 'chill party.'"

Meanwhile, our YAMs (Young Adult Ministry) is wrapping up Deuteronomy this week! "Pretty crazy that we have read the Torah in five weeks," Will says.
Attend SOAR Ladies Retreat
If you haven't done so, take a moment now and sign up for the 2020 SOAR Ladies Retreat. The event is scheduled for March 13-15 at the SIFAT in Lineville, Alabama. Guest speaker will be Angie Stryker, who, as a 17-year-old, spent seven weeks on a missionary ship on the east coast of Africa.

This will be a great weekend to examine your walk with the Lord and have great fellowship with other sisters in Christ. The cost is $100 but if paid by Feb. 15, it's just $75.
Cookies needed to support Emory Breadhouse
The Cookie Monsters are getting hungry at Emory University!

It's the time of the month when cookies are due so that we can help our mission partner, Emory Breadhouse, provide free cookies to students.

Bring your cookies to church this Sunday, Feb. 16, or drop them at the church office by Monday, Feb. 17, at 5 p.m.

Fresh-baked cookies are appreciated, but if you don't have time, grab a pack from the grocery store and donate them.
