Are you ready to take up the Shield of Faith?
Sermon Title: Faith
Scripture:    Ephesians 6:16

This Sunday, we will unpack a curious piece of spiritual armor, the shield of faith. Unlike the armor we've discussed so far, this spiritual weapon is not worn on the body, but it is held onto and used to defend. Jesus used this armor along with the Word of God to resist Satan in Matthew 4 . The faith that Jesus had in the scriptures stopped the attack and allowed Him to push Satan back. James 4:7 says, "So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Faith in Christ is the weapon of resistance on the battlefield, and this Sunday we will talk about how we can hold tightly onto our faith.

! ! ! Rising Sixth Graders ! ! !

Parents of rising sixth graders, please email or text Rae Tyler Caggiula a picture of your child by Sunday, May 24, to be in our May 25 Monday newsletter.

This is a big step in their school life and we would like to acknowledge it. We will have a Fifth Grade Graduation Party for them when we resume worship together.

When we do resume gathering together for worship, these children will have an option of either continuing with KidsTime or worshipping in the auditorium with their family or friends.

Share a Bedtime Story with your child(ren)

Here is the latest set of Bedtime Bible Stories for your children. Look for the next batch on Wednesday. Remember that Skit Guys encourages the children to participate by sending in their drawings, videos of them singing, or pictures of them and their families watching! Some of these will be shown online.

Help your children put on the armor of God
Our Armor of God children's series will continue this Sunday as we cover the Shield of Faith. Remember, Sunday's video message should be posted on the church website by Friday and we will also send parents an email each week. Here are links to the lessons so far, which are being shared with our children in conjunction with the same series being taught by Art Stansberry on Sunday mornings.

Angel Whispers . . .

During a wedding rehearsal, the minister realized the ceremony needed to be shorter, so he said,”We need to eliminate something.” The 4-year-old ring bearer, said loudly, ”Lemonade, oh boy!” Thanks Robert!
Camp workers needed
Art is looking for some dedicated, courageous servants to work a week of camp for 3rd-4th Graders at North Georgia Christian Camp (NGC) on June 14-18.

NGC has cancelled some of the weeks of camp and is still evaluating whether to proceed with the June 14 week. However, Art wants to be proactive so that we will have the best staff available for the campers if the camp decides to move forward with this particular week. If you are able and willing to serve, please email Art at so that he can start planning a potentially amazing week of camp. By the way, check out CAMPTV at   #NGCCCAMPTV  . It'll make you smile!
Current attenders: Please take our survey
More than 75 people have responded to our survey gauging the congregation's thoughts on returning to church during this time of social distancing. In addition, the anonymous survey will give us a pulse on the congregation's health and well-being and how you're engaging with the church during this difficult time.

Your responses will help us move forward as we pray for the full force of the church to be unleashed.
The deadline is Friday, May 22 , so current attenders, please take a moment now and complete the survey if you haven't already.

Thank you for your faithfulness and we look forward to the day when we'll be worshiping our mighty God with one another in person.
