THIS WEEK @ MC3

In-person worship resumes Sunday with Church in the Parking Lot
Starting Sunday, MC3 Church will resume regular in-person Sunday morning worship services with Church in the Parking Lot.

In the meantime, we will continue to stream services online for those who prefer to worship online during this time.

The full worship service--including singing, communion, sermon and offering time--will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot by the gym at the old Mount Carmel church building located at 6015 Old Stone Mountain Rd. The service will be broadcast over FM radio channel 90.9.

Unfortunately, because of COVID-19 precautions, we will not be able to offer children’s church at the outset, but we will work to make that a possibility. Our Student Ministry—middle and high schoolers—will be gathering immediately after the Sunday worship service for activities on the church grounds.

Please stay inside or around your vehicle throughout the service to make sure we follow social distancing guidelines. Also, children should remain with their parents at all times.
A word from Art

Sermon Title: Lost Love
Scripture: Revelation 2:1-7

We can do a lot of things right in life but if we don't have love in our hearts, we cannot please God. This Sunday, we will look at the church in Ephesus and focus on the importance of making Jesus and others our first loves. I look forward to seeing everyone in the parking lot at the old Mount Carmel property.

Coming this Sunday

Listed below is the opening devotion to the final episode of the COVID-19 lessons for at-home worship with your children. The full episode offers scripture and a devotion, games and activities to help you and your child. The entire lesson will be sent Friday for your Sunday lesson on grief and loss.

God Cares about My Grief and Loss

Parent Devotion:
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. - Matthew 5:4

Painful things happen to all of us in this life. During this pandemic, there is a lot of uncertainty and grief over the losses we’re experiencing. Losses--such as lost ability to gather as a church, lost jobs, lost connections with friends and families, and sometimes, loss of a loved one to COVID--all cause some level of grief.

As Christians and as parents, we may feel that we have to hide our grief from other people. Yet having the joy of the Lord does not mean we must deny our pain and grief.

In this session you will introduce children to five stages of the grieving process: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. The stages leading up to acceptance may bring intense, uncomfortable emotions. Some Christians may think these stages are extreme or unnecessary. This is not the case. Each stage is a natural, even healthy, step in grieving and healing.

Think back on losses you have experienced in the past couple of months. Have you had the space and time to process your grief, or did you feel you had to hide your pain? Spend time now allowing God to comfort you. He knows what you need. He knows your thoughts and emotions, even the ones buried under the surface.

"Thus says the Lord of hosts, Judge fairly,
and show mercy and kindness to one another." – Zechariah 7:9

Tell us how you're showing kindness
Last week, we initiated an initiative to encourage random acts of kindness. This week, please take a moment and let us know about the acts of kindness you've shared with others or received from others. Send your stories to info@mc3.life or share them on our social media channels.

In the meantime, take a moment now and listen to the 2-minute devotion from Jim Barber (link below) about the importance of being kind in today's harsh, hostile and indifferent world.
