Jesus’ birth announced to the shepherds
Shepherds. They were poor, humble, smelly creatures, yet central to the Christmas story. The message in this week’s children’s lesson is that God truly used the shepherds and he can truly use you, too.
God sent multitudes of angels to announce the birth of His Son to the shepherds and they in turn went to Bethlehem to see and worship the baby born in a stable. It’s amazing when we consider that the Little One, whom the shepherds went to see in Bethlehem, is now the sacrifice for our sins.
Our lesson for Sunday will focus on how the shepherds worshiped, how they told others, and when they went to the temple for sacrificing the sheep. Perhaps we should use their example and tell, tell, tell others who do not know Him!
