Two service options coming your way this Sunday
Church in the Parking Lot joins MC3's online worship experience
This Sunday, you will have two options for participating in a worship service with MC3 Church.

Our online worship experience, which is available via the church website, church app, YouTube and Facebook, will begin as usual at 10:30 a.m.

In addition, we will host "Church in the Parking Lot," also at 10:30 a.m., at Carmel Mar Thoma Center (the old Mount Carmel church building) located at 6015 Old Stone Mountain Rd. The services will be held in the parking lot next to the gym, and you are encouraged to use the drive-way on the right to avoid any traffic from Mar Thoma's regular church services.

Our Church in the Parking Lot experience will be a full Sunday morning service, with the praise team, message, communion and offering time. Everyone should stay in or around their vehicles throughout the service to make sure we follow social distancing guidelines. Also, children should remain with their parents at all times. You will listen to the service via the FM radio in your vehicle.

We will evaluate the effectiveness of the parking lot service to determine if it should remain an option in the future.
Sunday sermon

Sermon Title: Stay on Mission
Scripture: James 4

This Sunday we will jump into James 4 and learn the importance of being meek and obedient to the Lord. What we will discover is that there is a huge upside to submitting to Christ. As Jesus says in Matthew 5:5, "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." Join us Sunday as we unpack this powerful chapter in James.

New resource available to help answer the tough questions

During this time of pandemic, you may very well be getting some hard questions from the children in your life. It’s natural for children—and even adults—to be frightened about what they are seeing and hearing. To help provide godly, spiritually based answers, we are offering this excellent resource entitled, “Hard Questions and Answers from God’s Word.”

People in crisis often ask questions that will fall into three main categories:

  1. Who is God? These questions ask things like: If God loves us, how could He allow this to happen? How can I believe God has not forsaken me?
  2. Why did this happen? These questions might sound like: Why did so many people die? Why didn’t God stop the pandemic? Why is this bad thing happening? Is God punishing us for something?
  3. How can I go on living? For example: Why did God spare me? Where are my family members now? What happens to children when they die?

You may be struggling with these questions, too. God encourages us to share our true feelings, questions and doubts with Him. There is so much that we cannot understand, but we can trust that He is good and loving, and He can comfort you and the children you teach.
A look to the future . . .
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have an “Ability Ministry” of God’s most treasured creations—children with Special Needs?

Perhaps, when we return to regular worship services, we can lovingly care for these precious children. It is a ministry for parents as well as the children.

For children, we would have a basic training workshop. Caring for the child (children) during one worship service a month or every six weeks would be wonderful.

Parents of these angels seldom can attend worship. If they do, the mother and father generally attend separately; that becomes old very quickly. It would be wonderful to reach out and serve the little ones and their parents so that they can worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords as we do.

This Ability Ministry would be called “Angels for Angels.” Please be in prayer about this and let's look to the future.

Bags may be picked up at the church office. Please touch base with Vicki Calhoun to make arrangements. (Email Vicki)

Here is a printable list of suggested items to include in the bags. Also, please specify if the bag is for a boy or girl and the appropriate age.

In lieu of filling a bag, you may make a monetary contribution to SOAR Ministries. Send the checks to MC3 and we will make sure they are delivered to SOAR.
