Sermon Title: This Changes My Love
Scripture:   1 Corinthians 13

This Sunday, we will look at how Jesus changes the way we view love. In the New Testament, we find four kinds of love mentioned in the Greek text: Storge, Philia, Eros and Agape. The first three were embraced by the world. But when Jesus stepped into our world, He began to highlight Agape love, which is the highest form of love, an unconditional, sacrificial kind of love. So join us Sunday as we unpack how Jesus has changed even the way we love.
Serve or attend Saturday's Lilburn Christmas Parade
The Lilburn Christmas Parade will take place this Saturday, Dec. 7, and we need your help to pass out candy.

Our students and children will staff the church float, which is the only Nativity scene in the parade. We need other servants to walk alongside the float and pass out candy.

Everyone, including children and students riding on the float, should be in place by 9 a.m. at our float, which will stage in the parking lot of Lilburn First Baptist Church. Parking is usually tight at the church, so you may need to plan to be there earlier. Another option is to park at the end of the parade route in the Lilburn Park and walk up to the staging site at Lilburn First Baptist.
Christmas candlelight service and lunch planned for Dec. 22
Join us Sunday, Dec. 22, for our Christmas Candlelight Service in the Parkview High School Theater. Lunch will be served right after the service in the Parkview cafeteria, and we need you to RSVP if you plan to attend,to ensure we have enough food on hand. We will be asking for a $5 donation per person to help defray the catering costs for the lunch.

Lion and Lamb Name Contest
Thanks to the darling children who submitted entries to this contest. However, there can be only one winner for the Lion’s name and one winner for the Lamb’s name, and we will announce them during Sunday's worship service. Won’t it be fun to see the chosen names?!
Children to sing in Christmas service
Our children will sing in the Christmas Adult Worship at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 22. They are practicing each week with Keri Marsh. What could be sweeter than hearing and seeing our darling children sing of the birth of our precious Lord and Savior’s birth?

Space needed for Christmas and New Year's Eve parties

We need a host home(s), clubhouse room, etc., for the following parties for approximately 20 children from age 4 through the fifth grade. All planning, supplies, refreshments and games will be provided by other Children’s Ministry servants and parents.

  1. Christmas Party – Date to be determined by host.
  2. Celebrate at Eight! – A New Year’s Eve Party, Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. We will celebrate the New Year’s stroke of midnight at 8 p.m.! More fun details later.

Please contact Rae Tyler Caggiula by email or at 770-597-2523 if you can host one or both of these parties.
We're observing Advent with a weekly video series
Advent marks the start of a season of preparation that looks forward to the celebration of Christmas and the second coming of Christ. It is a time of reflection in preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ—we remember how our Savior humbled Himself to be born as a baby and live among those He would save. We remember the perfect life He lived doing the will of His Father, His sacrificial death on the cross, and how He was raised from the dead three days later, having paid the penalty in order to save all who would believe. Christians remember Jesus' promise to return again one day and restore everything fully. Advent invokes feelings of expectation and hope, and we're going to observe the season with a four-week series of videos on social media and the MC3 Church website.
