A word from Art

Sermon Title: Poor In Spirit
Scripture: Revelation 2:8-11

In a world where people increasingly choose to follow man and their own desires instead of God, the lesson Jesus gave to the church of Smyrna in Revelation 2:8-11 is incredibly relevant for us. The timeless message is to remain faithful no matter what, and not let detractors deter you from your faith in Christ. Join us Sunday as we continue unpacking the messages Jesus gave to the seven churches—and to us—to ensure we receive eternal life.

Why Hard Times Help Us Grow . . . A devotion for our darling children
The scripture, illustrations, and analogies are from the text of 1 Samuel 17 about David the Shepherd Boya story and lesson we never tire of!

This devotion will help kids understand that the trials they face today can help them in the future. Expect the message to arrive by email on Friday.

Did you ever wonder who sent your child the birthday card from "Footsteps?" Well, it is Sheila McGaughey who lovingly sends these. Please join me in giving her a big bear hug! (after the Social Distancing!)
The Skit Guys are back!
The Skit Guys have begun their second season of Bedtime Bible Stories for your darling children and family’s enjoyment! Be ready to laugh at their funny and silly, but to the Bible point, Bible lessons. It is a great way to end or begin your day! So fun!
We're back together for in-person worship on Sundays ...
And we're online, too!
Remember! You have two options for worshiping with the MC3 family this week—online and in person.

Both our online and Church in the Parking Lot services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Church in the Parking Lot offers a full worship service—singing, communion, sermon, offering time and socially distanced fellowship. The in-person service will be held in the parking lot by the gym at the old Mount Carmel church building located at 6015 Old Stone Mountain Rd. The service will be broadcast over FM radio channel 90.9.

Unfortunately, because of COVID-19 precautions, we are unable to offer children’s church at this time, but are working to make that a possibility. Our Student Ministry—middle and high schoolers—will be gathering immediately after the Sunday worship service for activities on the church grounds.
Quick hitters
  • Student Ministry - Zoom this Wednesday at 7 p.m. for middle and high school students.
  • Young Adults - Bible Study over Zoom (or in person) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
  • Cookie Ministry - Unfortunately, we can't donate cookies to Emory Breadhouse at the moment, but they could still use our help in ministering to students at Emory University. Please consider sending them a gift card to Kroger or Sam's to offset their cookie purchases. Mail your gift cards to: 1227 Clifton Rd, Atlanta, GA 30307.
  • Angel Bags - We're collecting items for Angel Bags for SOAR Ministry's Christmastime mission to Mexico. Bags can be picked up at the church office. Here is a printable list of suggested items to include in the bags. In lieu of filling a bag, you may make a monetary contribution to SOAR Ministries. Send the checks to MC3 and we will make sure they are delivered to SOAR.

Tell us how you're showing kindness
It's a new week! How do you plan to show kindness to someone else?

Please take a moment and let us know about the acts of kindness you've shared with others or received from others. Send your stories to or share them on our social media channels.
