CONNECTING WITH OTHERS AND CHRIST ON A DEEPER LEVEL

Sermon Title: Connect
Scripture:   John 5

In John 5, Jesus encounters a man who had been an invalid for 38 years. Jesus approached him and asked if he wanted to be healed, and the man replied, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” We were never meant to do life solo. Adam had Eve, Moses had Aaron, Starsky had Hutch (just checking to see if you are paying attention.) This Sunday, we will look at the importance and benefits of connecting with other believers and the benefit of connecting with the Lord on a much deeper level.
C-Groups return this week - Start your New Year on the right track

We are excited about the start of the new year and the beginning of a new round of C-Groups at MC3 Church.

Here's our current schedule of Wednesday night C-Groups, all of which meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m.:

  • Young Families hosted by Jered and Hope Stills (5032 Green Oak Dr., SW, Lilburn) and facilitated by Jim Barber. This brand new C-Group is open to all adults, but will also have C-Group offerings for children ages 2 through the fifth grade, as well as nursery for toddlers and infants. All attendees should bring a dish to share with the group. The adult Bible study will be based on Art's weekly sermon.
  • 9:37 hosted by Art and Christy Stansberry (4995 Chartley Circle SW, Lilburn). Open to all adults, this C-Group is facilitated by Art and based on his weekly sermon. Please bring a dish to share with the group.
  • Worship Ministry hosted by Brandi Williams (5514 Five Forks Trickum Rd, Stone Mountain). This group is open to anyone but targeted at our praise and worship team.
  • Men's Ministry at IHOP on 78. This group is facilitated by Jim Walters and currently studying The Complete Green Letters, a devotional that teaches complete dependency on Jesus for everything that the Christian life is about, from right standing with God, to spiritual growth, to personal wellbeing, to practical service.

We also have a weekly C-Group for young adults ages 18 to 25. Our YAMs (Young Adult Ministry) meet on Tuesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. at the home of Will and Helena Tyler (5586 Crestwood Dr., Stone Mountain).

In addition to our weekly C-Groups, we have these other weekly and monthly options for adults:

  • We offer a traditional Bible school class at Parkview High School starting at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, as well as a discussion-based class (using the SOAP method). The traditional class meets in the round circle just past the theater, and the discussion class meets in the theater lobby next to the elevator.
  • Our First Friday C-Group meets on the first Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Dave and Jean Bugg (4806 Kenilworth Dr., Stone Mountain).
  • The Missions Monthly C-Group meets on the last Sunday of each month at the home of Keri Duncan and Melinda Wilson (1827 Preserve Creek Way, Loganville).

God never intended for our spiritual journeys to be solo pursuits. He created us for community, and in Christ, we belong together. Our Connect Groups—or C-Groups as we call them—are about sharing C together, building authentic relationships, growing in faith and serving in ministry together.
