WELCOME BACK!

I am so very excited that we will be joining together in the park this coming Sunday for our first in-person worship services. It will be Patriotic Sunday, a perfect time to get together for worship and fellowship. I do want to share that in addition to our in-person worship in the park, we will also be offering a Patriotic Service online that was recorded earlier in the week. We do not have the technology to livestream in the park, but we still wanted those at home to be able to join in worship. The services will be identical with the exception, of course, that one will be indoors and the other outdoors.

Also, I want to invite you to please mark your calendars for July 12 as we welcome our new Associate Minister, Rev. Amber Lea Gray. Rev. Gray will be preaching at both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services that day and there will be a reception in her honor. Rev. Gray is excited to join the staff of MFUMC and to be a part of this wonderful congregation. I know that you will welcome her with grace and kindness.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday, whether in person or online!

Faithfully yours,
SUNDAY'S MESSAGE:
"Welcome Y'all"

WORSHIP IN THE PARK FOR PATRIOTIC SUNDAY
SUN JUNE 28 | 9AM & 11:15AM
Join us on June 28, at 9AM or 11:15AM, for worship in the Park on Polk
for our Patriotic Service. Pre-recorded Online services will also be available for those not able to attend in person.
Please Note:
  • Registration is being used to help us plan, it is not a seat reservation.
  • Check-in will happen on Sunday mornings. If you provide information in advance, the attendance process is very quick.
  1. Please let us know which service you plan to attend. This is important for planning purposes as well as taking attendance before worship, since we will not be passing the pew pads. You can enter your information beginning Monday, June 22 at 9AM on the church website – it takes just a moment! Click Here to provide information for this SundayContact Kelly Duncan with any questions.
  2. If you are a higher-risk individual or do not feel comfortable yet, we encourage you to stay home and join us for an excellent online Patriotic Service at 9AM and 11:15AM.
  3. We ask that you wear a mask at least until you are seated in the park.
  4. Bring your own chair or blanket and a cup of coffee or tea but please, no food.
  5. When you arrive, stop by one of the attendance tents to tell them your name so we know that you are present.
  6. Please stay 6 feet apart from other households at all times, and find a spot to sit that is 6 feet away from other households. This is an act of love for others and concern for the health and safety of everyone, especially those who may be more vulnerable.
  7. As much as we want to, no high-fives, handshakes, or hugs.
  8. Please stay home if you do not feel well, have a temperature, or are displaying any other symptoms of the virus.
  9. There will be limited restroom availability.
  10. Dress casually!

GREAT AMERICAN FAMILY PICNIC
Thank you for your support of the Great American Family Picnic over the past several years celebrating July 4th at First United Methodist of Marietta. Unfortunately, the picnic cannot be held this year due to health concerns associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The City of Marietta has cancelled all July 4th events. Over the last ten years, we have raised over $40,000 for MUST Ministries. The needs at MUST are greater than ever now and we are hoping to provide a significant donation again this year. Please consider donating to the Great American Family Picnic through Marietta FUMC so we can once again support this ministry that has given so much to so many.

For more details on the history of this picnic and how to help, please check out our Facebook page: Great American Family Picnic- 4th of July at MFUMC.

Thanks again for your support! We hope to see you next July 4th, 2021, at the Park on Polk.
