Dear

I am grateful to report that Tommy and Sujin received an encouraging analysis when they consult with the surgeon yesterday. The surgeon shared that she thinks the mass/tumor is benign based on what she could see in the scans. The surgeon encouraged them to move forward with their wedding on July 12 as well as their trip to Korea for their honeymoon. She will have surgery in early August after they get these more important matters taken care of! Thanks be to God!

Thank you for the love which you expressed for Tommy and Sujin as he concluded his ministry with us at Messiah. In typical Messiah fashion, your love reflected and gave expression to the love of God. We celebrate such love every time that we gather for worship.

Please remember that our worship times are different this coming Sunday! We will have a traditional service at 8:30 am. We will be focusing on Luke 15:1-7 and the sermon will be entitled “ Theological Musings on Goats and People. ” The Messiah Summer Handbells will present “What a Friend We Have in Jesus. ” We will have a convergence service at 10:00 am. We will focus on Ephesians 3:14-21 and the sermon will be entitled “Immeasurably More Than All We Ask or Imagine.”  The Chancel Choir will present “Pray for the People” as the anthem and The Summer Handbell Choir will present “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”  There will also be other special music. Our Fellowship Time will be from 9:30 to 10:00 am and we encourage you to come early or stay late and you could even come to both services because they will be completely different! Sunday School for our children will be offered during the 10:00 am convergence service.

We look forward to sharing in worship with you as we come together and do what Messiah does best: loving God and loving our neighbors!

Summer Lunch Bunch Needs your help in !

Messiah is partnering with FCPS to help feed hungry school children during Summer Break (now through August 23). Fairfax County has identified sites where food-insecurity is highest, and FCPS Food & Nutrition Services will be preparing pre-packaged lunches for these sites every weekday over the summer months. We will be serving at The Vistas of Annandale Apartments on a daily basis.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome. This is a great family volunteer activity.

We ask that volunteers meet at The Vistas of Annandale Apartments at 11:45. Lunch is served from Noon to 1:00 PM to any child who shows up at our site – including volunteers under age 18. A Fun Bucket of activities is also provided to encourage friendly interaction with those at the site. Questions? Email Leslie Flatt at lesliecateflatt@gmail.com .

Women's Walk & Talk:
This is a flexible, come-when-you-can program that includes spiritual enrichment, physical movement, and fellowship—three principles that play a role in a long, healthy life. We will meet each Saturday morning at 8:30 at the far end of Messiah’s parking lot. (near Pia's house) After a brief devotional we will start walking in the neighborhood. The slower walkers set the pace! We will add other routes later, based on the group’s needs and interests, and weather. The start date is to be determined.
