Sunday Elective
Sunday Adult Elective
Begins Sunday, October 10

Our October Adult Elective, Clear Focus: How to Become an Effective Disciple Maker, begins this Sunday, October 10 with Stephen Reel at 10:10 am in the Sanctuary. If you aren't able to attend, visit the Mitchell Road YouTube channel to watch.
When we focus intently on who, we begin to escape the tyranny of what steals the joy from our lives and service. This is the essence of biblical discipleship—what we have been commissioned by Jesus Christ to do. Follow Him through any day of His ministry, and you will see that He is always focused on a who. There were many distractions along the way, but Jesus’ focus was resolutely centered upon those He came to seek and to save. By learning from His example, we can experience more clear focus in our own lives and become more effective in making disciples.

Charity and Stephen Jones with Serge, England

The Jones family lives in London, England where they are involved with the training of new missionary candidates and local church leaders seeking to reach Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs with the gospel. Charity is a counselor specializing in cross-cultural work with those who have experienced trauma and abuse. She helped start Kairos Community Counseling, which offers very inexpensive counseling sessions to trauma victims in unreached people groups.

You can join us in prayer that the Lord would raise up more counselors to increase their reach. Also, pray for two of their Hindu friends who are beginning to read the Bible and that many more would join in!

Dan serves as the Kitchen Manager of Greenville Rescue Mission, where he uses his passion for food to feed others physically, but he also tells his story and allows God to feed guests spiritually. Although Dan grew up in a Christian home, he chose his own way. After years of being chained to addiction, God broke through. Today, Dan looks back over his story—all the sin, heartache, and feelings of hopelessness—and realizes God was preparing him for a future ministry. You can listen to Dan’s full story below.
