Lyric soprano Coril Prochnow has performed leading roles with opera companies in the Los Angeles area and appeared as a frequent guest soloist with orchestras and chorales.
Operatic roles include Leonora in Il Trovatore, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin, Hanna in The Merry Widow, Angelica in Suor Angelica, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Leonora in Fidelio and Hella in Margarita.
As a soloist with orchestra, her repertoire includes oratorios and other sacred works by Vivaldi, Bach, Händel, Mozart, Saint-Saëns, Schubert, Britten and other great masters. She created the title role of Frida Kahlo in the one-woman opera, LOVE LETTERS, composed by the celebrated Russian-American composer, Gamma Skupinsky. She premiered the work in major cities in Russia in 2016, returning in spring 2017 to perform Skupinsky’s St. Mary’s Passion and Requiem in Ukraine and Kazan.
Ms. Prochnow maintains a vocal studio in Prescott, AZ and is also a member of the Mountain Reformed Church Sanctuary Choir!
