Stewardship Season Update

By now you have received our annual stewardship appeal. Despite all the changes in church life due to the pandemic, the challenge of financing our mission and ministry remains. We hope you are able to continue your support of Old North Church as you have in the past, and we encourage you to return your pledge card to the church office, or pledge online at your earliest convenience. As of March 10, we have received 223 pledges for 2021, totaling $398,422.
Come Light a Candle with Us

As part of the "Come Light a Candle with Us" series on Friday nights- the Christian Formation Ministry Board will be hosting a Labyrinth in the church parking lot this Friday night, March 12th, from 4pm-8pm. It will be a masked, social distanced, outdoor event with limited participant numbers to abide by state Covid-19 guidelines.
The Labyrinth is a metaphor for life's journey. Dating back to the 5th century BC, they are meandering but purposeful paths to be walked in a silent meditative state. The design we are using allows for one way foot traffic. You will enter one side of the Labyrinth, and after your winding contemplative journey, you will enter the center, and then follow the path to the other side to exit.
This Labyrinth will have a natural theme, with rocks, wooden discs, and nearly 600 battery operated votive candles to allow us to be in the light together.
Ways you can participate:
- Drop off a medium sized beach rock on Thursday or Friday by 3pm. It will then be added to the Labyrinth design, as a tangible symbol of prayer intention. There will be a wheelbarrow in the plant bed along the left side of the church lot where you can leave your rock ahead of time.
- Help fill in our Labyrinth design with rocks, wooden discs, and battery operated votive candles between 3-4pm.
- Set aside some time to walk the labyrinth from 4-8pm...in daylight, or after sunset.
- Participate in the lighting of the nearly 600 battery operated votives in the Labyrinth design between 5:40pm-6pm.
PLEASE NOTE: This event is following MA state guidelines for Covid-19 safety standards and therefore will limit the number of attendees to 10 for each 20 minute time slot. Please use this sign up link to reserve your time and help us keep our numbers within guidelines.

***PARKING LOT TRAFFIC WILL NOT BE ONE WAY FOR THIS EVENT- We are asking people attending to come and go by way of either Stacey Street or Franklin Street, and to not cross the lot from one entrance to another. This will keep cars from driving past the Labyrinth.
Any questions about this event, please contact Nicole Guerin at 617-850-2308. Thank you- and hope to see you there!
Lenten Reflections

The Christian Formation Ministry Board invites you to share your reflections and creativity as we journey through the Lenten season together.

If you would like to submit a reflection (in the form of writing, poetry, an artwork, a photograph,a musical offering, etc) on one of the following:

Psalms: 25:1-9, 22:22-30, 19, 51:1-13, 31:9-16 or 107:1-3 and 17-22,
please contact Dee Burgett at deeburgett@comcast.net

We will begin offering the reflections to the ONC community on Ash Wednesday and continue each Wednesday during Lent. We hope these meditations will provide some nourishment for the journey.

Please consider sharing your story!

Anti-Racism Accountability Group

A group of Old North Church folks are committing to get together regularly to hold ourselves accountable to doing anti-racism work in our own lives. This will be a time for sharing and accountability about how we are participating in the work Jesus calls us to do in unraveling white supremacy--whether that's confronting racist language in our families and friends, supporting Black organizers in the local area, immersing ourselves in learning from people of color, or many other things. We're still figuring this out, and we'd love for you to be on the journey with us.
