Covid-19 Protocols at Old North Church
Masking Urged - Vaccination Expected

The COVID risk level is HIGH in Marblehead and the surrounding area, according to the CDC and the Marblehead Board of Public Health. For the time being, we urge all who attend worship to wear high-quality masks (eg, KN95, N95 or KF94). The choir will continue to wear masks while singing.

All members of the Old North Church clergy, staff and choir have been vaccinated against Covid-19. We expect you to be vaccinated as well. For information on the vaccine or how to be vaccinated, please go to www.mass.gov/covid-19
Please continue to observe physical distancing between households, particularly if you or a member of your household is unvaccinated.
Hand sanitizer and disposable face masks are available in the narthex.
Annual Meeting of the Church
Wednesday, June 15 at 7pm via Zoom

The 338th Annual Meeting of the Church will be held on Wednesday, June 15 at 7pm via Zoom. A link to the meeting will be provided before the meeting.

Annual Reports are available in the Narthex and church office during the hours of Tuesday-Thursday from 9am-noon or by clicking here. Agenda items include the Report of the Moderator, an Interim Minister Update, a Financial Update, a Prudential Ministry Board Update, a Capital Campaign Update and Approval of the Church Roster
New Interim Minister

The Interim Search Committee is happy to announce that Reverend Don Remick will be our new Interim Minister. We received applications from several strong candidates and completed thorough interviews with the most highly qualified, followed by a unanimous vote for our first choice. What a blessing! Don will start part-time on June 6th and full-time on September 5th.
During his 15 years serving as Senior Minister at the First Congregational Church in Hanover, MA, Don shared the pulpit with talented associates, led two Sunday services and oversaw a capital campaign, making him a great fit for Old North. We found him to be warm, articulate, and insightful as he eagerly shared his thoughts on how to lead us through this time of transition.

During part of Don's four decades of ministry he served on our Conference staff as Associate Conference Minister and Conference Minister. During that time he was responsible for developing programs to help churches with visioning and vitality, supervising staff and gathering resources to guide churches in their search processes, and training and resourcing interim ministers.

Don and his wife, who is also a pastor, have three children and three grandchildren.

For the past four years Don has primarily been doing interim work, and he will be completing his time at the First Congregational Church in Randolph during the summer. We anticipate that his first day preaching at Old North will be on Sunday, September 11th. If you have any questions, please contact Bonnie MacDonald at bonnietim@comcast.net or John Meakin at jgmeakin@icloud.com.
ONC Reading and Discussion Group
Wednesday, June 15th
The next meeting of the Old North Reading and Discussion Group on Preserving Our Democracy and Environment will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 8:30 to 10:00 AM. This is the latest of a series of meetings on this subject that have been hosted for all by the ONC Men’s Group. The discussions are supported by background reading. You are invited to participate regardless of the amount of your preparation or whether you have attended a previous meeting. For the June meeting we will finish discussing the book by Ray Dalio, Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order: Why Nations Succeed and Fail, Simon & Schuster, 30 Nov 2021. This book is particularly relevant to the situation in the world today, with all its evident instabilities. We will also begin discussing the book by Carlo Ravalli, There Are Places in the World Where Rules Are Less Important Than Kindness, Penguin, 8 Nov 2018.

The meeting will be held on Zoom. To join the meeting, click on
