New Mission & Vision Statements This year, the Parish Pastoral Council evaluated our parish mission statement and concluded that it was time for a more direct mission statement. The Council also developed a vision statement. For more information, please see Fr. Mark's article in this weekend's bulletin .

The “NEW” Parish Mission Statement is: Our Lady of Sorrows is a Catholic Community dedicated to giving witness to Jesus Christ by

proclaiming the Gospel, celebrating the Sacraments and Serving others.

The Parish Vision Statement is:

To know Christ and to make Christ known.

Missionary Appeal This Weekend

We welcome to our parish Fr. Ben Chinnappan, who will be making a mission appeal to support the education of Christian children who are Dalits, formerly known as “Untouchables” under the caste system of India. They have suffered from oppression for centuries. Please be generous to this appeal in support of God’s vulnerable children in India.

Thank you to all who have pledged to the CSA so far. To date, we have received $199,911 in pledges and gifts towards our goal of $275,093. This represents 73 % of our goal. Our contribution to CSA is our opportunity to show our discipleship by sharing a monetary gift for the betterment of the greater Church. Thank you for your support. Farewell Reception for Fr. Mario

Fr. Mario Amore's final Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows is Sunday, June 24 at 11:15 AM. Immediately following Mass there will be a farewell reception in the lower level of the Church. All are welcome! See the bulletin for more information.

Advancing the Mission: Take 2

Outgoing Director of Advancement

As my role as Director of Advancement for Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School is in its final days, I wanted to extend a heartfelt and sincere thanks to my faithful parish family who have helped me in this holy work of advancing the mission of our school.

Miss Deidre Ratliff has accepted the position of Advancement Director for the school. A lifelong parishioner at Our Lady of Sorrows who has taught here for four years, Deidre is excited to provide great community and events to share in our holy work. Please join me in welcoming Deidre and saying “yes” to the many ways she will need your support in the coming days.
