By following Jesus and reaching out to others, we seek God's transformation of ourselves and our world.
Any God sightings in your daily living? Where have you seen God lately? AND have you shared these experiences with others - what’s your witness like? It matters!

See you Sunday!

Christmas is Coming...
Help Pender Shine the Light of Christmas
You can help Pender shine the light of Christmas on Route 50 this year! We are looking for donations of Outdoor strings of Christmas lights and people to help us put them on the trees on the Route 50 side of the church. Light donations can be left in the designated bin in the Church Lobby anytime between now and November 30 th. And you can come join us in the afternoon of Saturday, December 1 st to help decorate. We will be lighting those trees as well as getting our sanctuary all ready for the Advent season!
A Night in Bethlehem
We need you!  Pender is hosting a “Night in Bethlehem” on Friday, December 7 th from 6-8pm. Our goal is to reach out to our community in a special way, by offering a glimpse of life in Bethlehem complete with a different “tent/workshops” and a live nativity with real animals, which will hopefully be a huge draw for our friends and neighbors!

How can you help, you ask? Well first, we need prayers for the success of this event and we also need you to invite everyone you know! And lastly, we need all hands on deck to help set up, clean up and volunteer at the different stations. Please choose where you would like to help by clicking on the link below. And closer to the date, we will also have a list of needed supplies for those of you who would like to donate an item. Please contact Jami Flemmons or Elizabeth Snader with any questions.

Join our next planning meeting on November 6th at 6pm.

Help Support Veterans and Their Families
Wreaths Across America
Many of us have loved ones who have served our country in the armed forces, and all Americans have been blessed by their willing sacrifices on our behalf to protect our freedom. Each fall, Pender's American Heritage Girls Troop VA1907 supports veterans and their families by giving the opportunity for folks to sponsor a wreath in honor of a fallen soldier. Then on December 15, our girls will lay those wreaths on the graves of veterans buried at the DC Soldiers’ & Airmen’s Home National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. We welcome our Pender family to join us! Our hope is to be able to lay a wreath on every grave this year to let families know that their loves ones are not forgotten and that we are grateful for their service.

You can sponsor a wreath by speaking with Sarah Katherine and/or Laura Hugo in person after one of the upcoming Sunday services or by donating online.

Military Ministry
Please stop by the table in the Church Lobby on November 4th to sign Veteran's Day Cards. The cards will be distributed to veterans being treated at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond on Veteran's Day.
We Need You!
Communion Servers
Are you looking for a new way, or maybe even an old way, to serve God and your church family? Please consider volunteering to help serve Communion in either the 8:15 or 11:00 am service. We need 2 volunteers for each service whenever Communion is served (usually the 1 st Sunday of each month). It is a small time commitment for you but a huge way to connect with your church and to be a part of the worship experience for all who attend. Please contact Donna Parker or the Church office for more information.

Invitation from the Missions Committee
If you have a heart for missions and would like to become a member of the Missions Committee or learn more about what we do and/or have a desire to participate in a short-term mission trip, please email Ivelisse Caceres and/or Armando Mieles at Your participation will help us be a step closer to fulfilling God’s Great Commission in local and global communities, our church and our lives.

Thank you!
Thank you to all who participated in this month's Blessing in a Backpack Ministry. We packaged over 130 bags of food and delivered them to Greenbriar East Elementary School. This next month we hope to send home a survey to help us identify the needs this population has, and how to best serve them. We are excited to outreach to our neighborhood school!
