By following Jesus and reaching out to others, we seek God's transformation of ourselves and our world.
Greetings!
The season of Epiphany uses the color green, for four weeks. When we think of the color green, we may think of phrases like "green with envy," or "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence;" but these are certainly negative connotations. We've all been in that place where we felt eaten up with bitterness about "what might have been" or "what was lost;" it is during those times that we turn away from the light and wallow in darkness. Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the time of the Church Year that provides a further glimpse of who Jesus is and why He has come into the world. This  is a season of revelation and light, of God manifesting Himself to the world through His Son - let us share in that light together.

Blessings,
Thom Jones

Super Bowl Sunday

Our Recovery Ministry will be hosting a Sober Party on February 3rd at 4-11pm while watching the Super Bowl. Enjoy tailgate food and non-alcoholic beverages - and lots of fun!
UMW Super Bowl Empanada Fundraiser
On January 20th and 27th, the UMW will be taking empanada orders -- look for the sign-up table before/after services near the coat rack -- and they will be ready for pick up on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3rd.

This is a great way to help the UMW raise funds for its important programs and missions, and at the same time, solves the problem about what to serve at your Super Bowl party!

Wednesday Brown Bag Celebration of Spiritual Discipline, The Path to Spiritual Growth
Bring your lunch and join Pastor Catharine at noon, beginning January 23rd, in Room 215 and enjoy a study based on the book, Celebration of Discipline, The Path to Spiritual Growth by Richard Foster.

In the twenty years since its publication, Celebration of Discipline has helped over a million seekers discover a richer spiritual life infused with joy, peace, and a deeper understanding of God. Hailed by many as the best modern book on Christian spirituality, Celebration of Discipline explores the "classic Disciplines," or central spiritual practices, of the Christian faith. Along the way, Foster shows that it is only by and through these practices that the true path to spiritual growth can be found.
