Service of Wholeness and Healing

This year's “Service of Wholeness and Healing” will be on Tuesday, December 9 at 12:30pm in the Sanctuary.

Many call it a Blue Christmas Service. Hard times and loss may darken the festive feelings that are expected during Advent. This service is designed to help you come out of the darkness as you honor memories of what was and use your faith to confront the fears of what may be.

Come share space with others who are looking for God to hold them close and be near until the light returns. All are welcome. Bring a friend. Lunch to follow at Cafe Express. For more information, reach out to Ann Guerra or Phil Wetz.

Alternative Gift Market is Back!

The Missions Committee is offering you an ‘easy out’ if you want to send a gift but can’t think of something suitable. You can make a donation to your choice of four mission partners: Brookwood, The Mission of Yahweh, Feed My Starving Children and Raise Up Families, in honor or celebration of your special person. Come to the Fellowship Hall hallway this Sunday, December 14 for one final chance. If you can’t wait that long, contact Margaret Schafer or Roger Mowell.

Join our Pines Mahjong players this Thursday at 7:00pm in the cafe next to the office. All ages and skill levels welcome! Contact Suzy Wolfe with questions.

Missions Response to MAM Request: Due to increased need and the loss of a major contributor, MAM has issued an urgent request for assistance with its Christmas Share program this year. The Missions Committee has approved $500 from its budget in response. If anyone is interested in donating toys to help supplement the program, contact Margaret Schafer for all the details. Thank you!

The Session has called a Congregational Meeting on December 21, 2025, following worship, for the purpose of electing Ruling Elders for the Class of 2029. The Congregational Nominating Committee intends to nominate the following: Kyle Brinkman, Scott Greene, Valerie Harelson, Phil Johnson, and David Youngflesh.

Throughout Advent, Pines is collecting the Joy Gift Offering, which provides assistance to church workers and their families in times of need, and develops our future leaders at Presbyterian-related schools and colleges. Please share your blessings with those in need.

Mark your calendars for the Brown Bag Book on Thursday, February 5, 2026. We will discuss the book, "Theo of Golden," by Allen Levi. It's the heartwarming story of a kind, generous and humble elderly man who brings joy to a community through selfless acts and gifts.
