Run for the Luck of It! is coming up in a few weeks and we are excited to offer our first in-person event of the year. While we are looking forward to race day energy again, we need a few extra hands to make race day possible. Do you want to be involved in Run for the Luck of It! but don't want to run or walk?! We are looking for volunteers to help us on race weekend. Volunteers are who make our events possible!

2020 Mileage Club Members! This is the last week to pick up your gift. Our office will be open for gift pick up Tuesday-Friday from 10-4 PM. If you can't make those times and need to make other arrangements, please email Sally at Sallyh@runwildmissoula.org

YOYO Tuesday Track
Tuesday Track is scheduled to return to Dornblaser on March 16th, 2021, weather permitting.
Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced

6 x 2:00 with 1:00 rest
Add two more reps for the advanced version
This is an effort based speed workout, it's great if you're trying to up your speed or to get started. Focus on getting progressively faster with each rep.
This week's workout is provided by Coach Courtney Babcock

Don't forget to do a warm up mile or two before starting the workout, and a cool down mile afterwards.

Upcoming Races & Activities
Run for the Luck of It!: We're excited to offer our first in-person race in 2021. Join us as we kick off spring racing with Run for the Luck of It! This year we are offering a 7 mile in-person option and a 5K virtual option. The 7 mile in-person event will be capped at 200 participants. The race is on March 13th and registration closes Wednesday, March 10th at noon.

Golden Gallop: The March installment of the Run for Missoula Virtual Race Series is the Golden Gallop. This 10K run or walk starts on March 15th and ends on March 21st. Funds from this race will benefit the Meals on Wheels Program at Missoula Aging Services. This program provides homebound older adults who are unable to shop or cook for themselves a healthy meal, which empowers them to live safely and independently in their own homes. Registration will close on March 14th, 2021.

Spring Road Training Class: Are you looking for structure in training with guidance from a coach? This is a great class to take whether you are a first-timer or repeat runner looking to successfully train for and complete an event during the Missoula Marathon weekend, or have other events to tackle on your calendar! The class starts virtually and potentially move to in-person later in the spring. Class started on February 28th, but it's not too late to sign up!

Missoula Half Marathon Walking Class: If you're looking for a low impact way to train for and successfully complete the Missoula Half Marathon on June 27, 2021, and also develop a network of fun, knowledgeable, encouraging folks of all shapes, sizes, and ages, then this is the class for you! The class starts virtually and will potentially move to in-person later in the spring. Registration is open with class starting on March 13th.

Weekly Activities
RWM Staff Hours
Our office will be open to the public Tuesday-Friday from 10-4PM until March 5th while Mileage Club members come by to pick up their gift. After that we will resume our normal hours of being open to the public Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-4 PM.

Masks are required when you enter the building and while conducting business with staff members.

Stay Fit, Stay Active, Stay Healthy - Phase Two does not mean that social distancing is over. Social distancing has been demonstrated as the best weapon that we have at this time in fighting the spread of this virus. We must do our part to ensure the health and safety of those around us. As such, we still encourage you to follow good social distancing and hygiene practices. 
  • If you have been vaccinated, we ask that you still uphold our covid guidelines with mask wearing and social distancing at all times
  • To the greatest extent possible, maintain at least 6-feet of separation from others
  • This does not include members of your immediate household
  • No hugs, handshakes, high fives, or elbow bumps
  • Wash your hands, or use hand sanitizer, before and after your run or walk
  • And, regularly wash your hands in between your runs and walks
  • Sneeze or cough into a tissue, handkerchief, or the inside of your elbow
  • Don’t pose together for selfies
  • If you feel any sign of sickness or illness, stay home
  • If it seems overly busy where you intended to run or walk and it’s more congested than you are comfortable with, consider finding a different course/route/trail
