STAR Testing: Students in grades 2-8 will begin taking the Renaissance STAR Assessments this week. These assessments are a key component in helping us get a clear picture of both individual student ability and development as well as overall student performance. The results are used to make adjustments to our curriculum and to fine tune individual instruction when needed. For those who are interested, here is more information about the STAR Reading Assessment and the STAR Math Assessment. A letter from the Diocese of Trenton regarding these assessments can be found HERE. No studying or preparation is necessary; please simply ensure your child has a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast, as you would on any school day!
Diocese of Trenton Catholic Family Survey: Responses are being collecting from Catholic families in the Diocese of Trenton to help parishes better understand members' lives as families and parents. Results will be used to create a parish plan for supporting parents of children and young people and for engaging the whole family in faith formation. All SCB families are invited and encouraged to complete the survey, which takes only a few minutes to complete online. The survey can be found here: Diocese of Trenton Parent Survey
Northeastern Music Programs: Students interested in joining the school band or orchestra may still enroll throughout the month of October. As a reminder, participation in band instrumental music is available to students in grades 4-8, and orchestra instrument participation is available for students in grades 3-8. If you are interested in joining this wonderful program, please refer to the enrollment link found here: NE Music Enrollment.
Report Cards: This year, the Diocese of Trenton is introducing a new report card structure for grades K-8. A letter from the Office of Curriculum and Instruction introducing the background on this change can be found HERE. More information and detail will be forthcoming as we approach our first report card of the year and parent/teacher conferences.
