Harmony for Hunger Concert - Tonight

On Friday November 17, Saint Mark’s will be hosting the Harmony for Hunger concert. This concert is a fundraiser for NNEMAP. The concert features music from many of the churches who support NNEMAP and the Ohio State Men’s and Women’s Glee Clubs.

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per ticket. Tickets available at the door.

November Adult Formation

In November the adult formation sessions will look at how the Episcopal Church does basic theology and makes decisions on issues. This will combine a look at the theology, polity and decision making of The Episcopal Church and how the theory of those things have played out in recent years.

Adult Formation meets Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:15 in the parish hall. The November session will meet November 12, 19 & 26.

Two Ways to Support Our Kids

Canterbury Choir Soup

The Canterbury Choir will be selling it’s popular soup mix beginning next Sunday. The cost is the same as last year, $10 for quart size and $7 for pint size. The mix makes a great Christmas gift.

Youth Group Gift Card Sale

The Youth Group will be selling gift cards beginning next week. We have a wide variety of store and restaurant gift cards available.  We are able to purchase the gift cards at a discount, you pay the face value of the gift card. You can also purchase gift cards to donate to the NNEMAP giving tree or to Star House to help homeless youth.

Do You Want To Be An Acolyte

Acolytes are the people who help lead the Sunday services by carrying the cross in the procession and helping with getting the altar ready for communion.

They also help hold things for Pastor Vicki.

Children and Youth are invited to become acolytes beginning in the 3rd grade.

Adults are also invited to serve as acolytes if they would like.

We are having a training session for new acolytes following the 10:30 service on Sunday, November 19.

If you (or your child) are interested and not able to be here on the 19th, let Pastor Vicki know ([email protected])

Tri-Village Packers

The Tri-Village Packers are a collection of organizations and people in Upper Arlington and Grandview who have come together to provide food for children in Upper Arlington and Grandview.

There are many children who rely on school lunches and breakfasts. Over the Thanksgiving break, these children often go hungry.

Tri-Village Packers are providing food to help these children through the Thanksgiving break.

If you want to help you can join in packing the food at the Upper Arlington Senior Center (1945 Ridgeview) at 2 p.m. on Sunday. You can also help with distribution at the Upper Arlington Senior Center on Monday and Tuesday between 3:30 & 6:30 p.m.

This is an initial project for this group. They are looking at ways to continue this effort going forward.

Lessons and Carols

The Advent Lessons and Carols service is coming up soon.

The service, which is a wonderfully meditative combination of readings from Scripture, hymns and choir anthems will be Sunday December 3 at 4 p.m.

This year the service will feature a world premiere of an anthem by the Canadian composer Sarah MacDonald, commissioned for the Saint Mark's Choir in memory of Barbara Mayr.

Please sign up to help with the reception.

Nursery

The nursery is staffed from 10:15 a.m. - Noon on Sunday mornings for children age 3 and under. Parents are invited to either drop off their children or to stay with them if they prefer.

If you have questions about the nursery, please contact either Julie Moll [email protected] or Pastor Vicki - [email protected]
