Celebrating God's Love

Supper Group

Our next Supper Group is Saturday, January 11 at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish hall.

Please mark your calendars and let Gloria Wylie (gawylie@att.net) know whether or not you can attend.

We moved it to the second week so we could all recuperate from the holidays.

January Adult Formation

In January the Adult Formation group will be looking at the stories of women in the Bible.

The January session will meet on January 12, 19 & 26. Adult Formation meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

Children's Formation

Children's Formation resumes on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the children's formation area downstairs.

Children will rejoin their parents around the time of the peace.

Tourist in Our Hometown

The next Tourist in our Hometown visit is to the Anti-Saloon League Museum in Westerville.

The Anti-Saloon League was one of the major organizations who campaigned for the prohibition of the sale of alcohol. Their work culminated in the passage of a Constitutional amendment outlawing the sale of alcohol in the United States. They also were a force in reshaping the postal service because of all of the mailing that they did. The Anti-Saloon League had its headquarters in Westerville.

The Museum is located at the Westerville Public Library, 126 S. State Street in Westerville. We will meet at the Museum at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 18 and explore the museum. There are a lot of restaurants in uptown Westerville if people want to grab lunch after exploring the museum.

Pub Theology

Pub Theology at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month. For a beverage, snack and conversation about God, the world, the church and any other topics you bring with you.

The January gathering is Tuesday, January 21. We will be meeting at the Somewhere in Particular Brewery on Dierker Road between Henderson and Bethel Roads.

Pastor Vicki comes with some topics of conversation, but bring your own thoughts, questions or topics.

Annual Reports

The Annual Meeting will be Sunday, February 9. If you are part of a ministry or activity at Saint Mark’s, please submit your Annual Report by January 26.

You can email your annual report to communications@saintmarkscolumbus.org

Outreach Summit

The next Outreach Summit will be held Sunday, January 26 following the 10:30 service.

Agenda topics will include an update on our current outreach projects, new volunteer opportunities, and the 2025 Outreach budget

Dale Hartney Fountain

Dale Hartney was a long time member of Saint Mark's and a long time coach of track and cross country in Upper Arlington.

A group of Upper Arlington alumni, who ran on teams that Dale coached, have secured the permission of the City to install a water fountain at the Miller Park Library, where Dale often had his runners turn around on their runs, in Dale's honor. They are looking to raise $7500 to complete the project.

The Upper Arlington Community Foundation has agreed to be the keeper of the funds raised. If you would like to learn more or make a donation, you can find the link here.

Roman Skoracki in the Tri-Village Magazine

The Tri-Village Magazine cover story this month was about Saint Mark's member, Roman Skoracki and his work at the Stephanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center.

If you live in the Tri-Village you probably got a copy in your mailbox. If you don't, or if you missed it, you can pick up a copy at the Upper Arlington Public Library.
