This Sunday at Saxe Gotha
Sun Jan 4 9am Traditional + 11am Modern
Join us as Pastor Joel begins a new series for the New Year! While separated by the Gospel of John in our Bibles today, the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles form one cohesive story written by the same author and addressed to the same person, Theophilus, likely a patron. In Luke and Acts, we see the life of Jesus, the beginning of the church, and how the two are related and propel the church forward today.

High School Modgnik Retreat
Feb 13-15 Flat Rock NC / Register Today
Modgnik is a retreat, but it’s also a one-word reminder that we’ve been called to live in God’s “backwards kingdom”. The retreat exists to help high school students consider how to live their lives in light of that calling, as well as to provide a fun weekend with their friends.
This is a weekend for churches to come together and fellowship as The Church. During the weekend, there are large group meetings, discussion times, class sessions and, of course, game times.
The HS Modgnik retreat is February 13-15 at Bonclarken Retreat Center in Flat Rock, NC. The cost of the retreat is $175, and that covers lodging, meals, transportation, and all retreat activities. Students and leaders can REGISTER NOW! Earlybird registration is available through January 1! A 10% discount will be applied when you register by January 1. Registration will close January 7th. Please email Mary if you need to submit registration after January 7th.

Fellowship & Group Opportunities for the New Year
Begins in February / Deadline to Sign Up: Jan 14
Tables of Eight is a fellowship opportunity for singles and couples of all ages to get to know others in the church, to build new friendships, and to enjoy a monthly meal at someone's home. By participating in this unique small group ministry we are following in the footsteps of Jesus who so often enjoyed meals with his friends. It’s as simple as that - the simple act yet enriching experience of sitting down together over a meal and building community.
How Tables of Eight Works A Table of Eight grouping is assigned for a three month session (Feb-Apr). How it works: The Fellowship team will group eight people from those who sign up. If a couple signs up, they are counted as two of the eight. Each Table of Eight decides the day and time they'll meet, preferably once per month during the session. Hosting is rotated among the group. The host is responsible for the main dish and beverages, and the remaining members bring the rest of the meal, e.g. appetizer, salad and bread, vegetable, and dessert.
Does this have to be a dinner?
No. This may be a brunch, lunch or even just appetizers/desserts and beverages. Or enjoy each other’s company at a favorite local restaurant. Each group decides what seems to fit people's schedules better.
Do I have to host?
Ideally, this will give each participant an opportunity to host; however, if you are unable to do this, accommodations may be made within the group.
What if I don't like to cook?
The food contribution does not have to be "homemade."
Is this a Bible Study group?
No. There is no set agenda; just fellowship.
What is the deadline?
Deadline for the Winter/Spring session is Wednesday, January 14. When you sign up, you can indicate if you would like to be Team captain for your group. The Team captain would help coordinate/plan your assigned team.
