Casual Way to Learn More about SGPC
We’d love to meet you! You're invited to a casual gathering with Pastor Joel—a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about Saxe Gotha, and hear what we're all about. Whether you're new here or just want to connect, this is the perfect chance to enjoy some food, meet new people, and have an open conversation about God, our church, or life in general.
Choose one of the following Sundays, August 10 or September 14, from 12:30 – 2pm at Pastor Joel's home. For all 3rd-5th Graders
Ready, Set, FUN—sign-up for Kid-a-thon, an amazing way to close the summer for your kids! Kid-a-thon is an action-packed afternoon and evening just for rising 3rd–5th graders. From wild games at the arcade, trampoline park, laser tag, pizza, time with friends, big laughs—it’s going to be an unforgettable day and an amazing end to their summer!
Important things for parents:
+ Drop-off in the Fellowship Hall at 1pm
+ Bring a water bottle
+ Apply sunscreen at home
+ Lunch is provided
+ Pick-up will be at 8:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. Please make every effort to be on time.
We will go off site for Kid-a-thon. We have the bus reserved and Sonya Turner is our driver.

Adult Sunday Discipleship Groups are designed for fellowship and spiritual growth. There are many compelling subject offerings to choose from. available to sign up. Sunday DGroups will start on Sunday, August 10, 4pm-5:30pm, with our orientation day and book pickup in the Atrium/gym followed by a light dinner. Classes officially begin August 17 and will end on Sunday, November 23. Most evenings following the classes, we will have dinners in the gym for the family. (August 31, October 12 and November 9 there will no classes held). Rooms will be assigned by August 10. Register today!

July 27 11am / Modern Worship at Saluda Shoals Park Cattail Pavilion
Bring Your Own Picnic
We are having our 11am Modern Service in Saluda Shoals Park on Sunday, July 27! Join us for a light, outdoor worship experience of praising God in a beautiful setting. Bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on. After the service, bring a picnic lunch for your family and enjoy the park and fellowship with the SGPC faith family. Be sure to pack sun screen, bug spray, sun glasses, and swimsuits for the Splash Pad area. It will be a wonderful day for worship and outdoor fun... see you there!
Parking is FREE if you mention Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church.
The Splash Pad will be open until 6:00pm. The cost is $4 per person and can be purchased at the Splash Park the day of the event. (Cash or card will be accepted).

NOTE: No balloons of any kind, pinatas, glitter, uncooked rice, confetti, silly string, sidewalk chalk, powder cannons, or canopies/pop-up tents are allowed in the park.

On Friday, July 11, all rising 9th - current 12th grades are invited to stay all night at the church for a High School Lock In! We will meet at the church in the Lighthouse at 8:30pm and have fun all night long through 8am on Saturday. There will be a time of Bible study, fellowship, food, and plenty of fun! Join us for a time to discuss your role in helping equip others to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. This workshop is designed to encourage individuals to engage in discipleship relationships with 2 or 3 others strengthening one another's faith, hope and love in Jesus Christ, thereby equipping one another to further the Kingdom through discipleship. Donation Information & Volunteers Needed
Garage Sale: Sat July 26 from 7am-1pm
Our 2025 Missions Garage Sale will be on Saturday, July 26 from 7am-1pm. The congregation is invited to shop early on Friday, July 25 from 6-8pm. All proceeds of the sale will go to expand the reach and impact or our Missions Ministry.
Donation Drop-Off We will take donations Monday, July 21 thru Thursday, July 24 from 12pm noon till 7pm. We will not be taking donations on Friday, July 25. There will be a drive-thru drop-off so watch for the signs. We will not be accepting baby equipment, weapons, mattresses, large old computers or console TVs. Please make sure your donations are clean and in good condition.

Mark your calendar and join us for the Men's Breakfast with biscuits, fellowship, and packing backpacks to start the school year! Breakfast begins at 6:30am and packing backpacks begins at 7:15am. Stay as long as you can and it's okay to leave early. All helping hands are appreciated!

DRT Mission Trip to NC for Hurricane Helene Victims
July 31-August 3 (No DRT in July)
Come join the team on a mission trip to North Carolina and help with the rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene's destruction. We will be working in the various communities in North Carolina to assist families return to their homes. This trip we will leave on a Thursday, July 31, right after the Men's Breakfast and Backpacking and return on August 3. Sign up today (only have a few openings). Congregational Care Cares about You
In June our Congregational Care ministries reached out to others in the following ways:
+ Caring Connections made sent 27 cards, made 40 visits, and made 66 calls/texts
+ Stephen Ministers provided care to 4 care receivers.
+ Renee’ Starnes talked with numerous people, mailed 75 letters and newsletters, sent 15 cards, and made 18 calls
+ The WinGS group had 11 at their monthly luncheon
+ Homebound Communion Team of 12 served communion to 13 people.
+ The Prayer Shawl ministry delivered 3 prayer shawls to those in need
You can help by donating cards to the office, or praying that our ministries continue to reach out to those in need near and far.
