Happy Thanksgiving!
From the Staff of Saxe Gotha
The staff of Saxe Gotha are deeply grateful for each of you and the ways this church reflects Christ’s love each and every day. This Thanksgiving, we give thanks for your faithfulness, your generosity, and the joy of sharing life together as Saxe Gotha. May your homes be filled with peace, gratitude, and God’s abundant blessings this Thanksgiving and always.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7

Lakeside Christian Academy Update from Pastor Joel
Dear Saxe Gotha Family,
Over the past three weeks, we have hosted representatives from Lakeside Christian Academy on our campus. I hope you have been able to connect with them to ask questions and to get to know them. Over the Thanksgiving break, I am asking the congregation to pray for God's direction and our discernment.
Request for Your Input
Please let the session know if you are in favor of renting Lighthouse space (Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5pm) for 5-7 years to Lakeside Christian Academy, a new school lcaflames.org who will launch in Lexington the Fall of 2026 through the button below.
| |
By clicking on the above button, you are participating in a congregational poll asking the session to call a congregational meeting to vote in late January or early February 2026.
Importance of Your Input
If we do not get enough favorable polls (50% or higher by Dec 7th), the session will not bring this to a vote during the congregational meeting, and the school will be told that SGPC cannot be the temporary location for them to launch the school. The school has other possible locations under consideration so, I am asking that you take the poll by December 7th. If we don't have enough favorable polls to recommend the school to session for a congregational vote to be taken in late January or early February 2026, the school will be free to move on in negotiations with those other locations.
Data to Prayerfully Consider
+ The original vision for the funding and building of the Lighthouse was to provide a space for teenagers in Lexington to hear about God. At the time of the building of the Lighthouse, there was nowhere for teenagers to gather.
+ The original vision and purpose for the CDC was to eventually become a school. The CDC was only phase one.
+ When I arrived as your new pastor, I was told that one of the top five priorities for calling a new pastor at SGPC was to reach new families.
+ All Christian schools in Lexington currently have waiting lists.
Blessings SGPC,
Pastor Joel
