Prayers for Jamaica
ACE Mission Parters of SGPC

Currently, our friends in Jamaica and people we’ve partnered with in the past on international mission trips, American Caribbean Experience (ACE), are in recovery and rebuild mode from a devastating category 5 hurricane. Please pray for Marla Fitzwater and her team. I’m asking all of Saxe Gotha to seek God’s face this evening on behalf of our precious friends. For inquiries about ACE, please connect with our missions' team leader, Guy Schmoltze (gschmoltze@lcjmwsc.com) or Elder Kim Koon (kimjkoon@yahoo.com).

Join Us for the Box Packing Party!

Sun Nov 9 / Boxes are Available for Pick Up

Grab a Shoebox or several! Find them in the Narthex (Sanctuary), Atrium (Lighthouse), and the main office area.

The Mission:

Our goal for the Packing Party is 350 boxes, but to hit 600, we need 250 more shoeboxes packed by you and your groups! All completed shoeboxes must be returned to the church by Sunday morning, November 16.

Ways to Be a Shoebox Hero:

1. Rally Your Troops Get your small group, circle, or neighborhood friends to help pack multiple shoeboxes and multiply your impact.

2. Donate Supplies Help us stock the party! Check out our Amazon wish list and send supplies directly to the church. Your donations will ensure we reach our 350-box goal for the packing party.

3. Prep for the Party We need helpers before the main event! Can your small group assist by packing school supply bags or rubber-banding t-shirts? All supplies are provided—just bring the manpower!

4. Join the Celebration! Join us at the Packing Party on Sunday, November 9, from 4-5:30pm. This is where the bulk of our boxes come together! Stay for dinner at 5:30pm.

Love a Family Gift Collection

Trees will be up Nov 9 / Gifts are Due by Nov 30

Each year we collect gifts for families in need. The gifts are shared with recipients from Mission of Hope and the Mental Health Department. We encourage families, ministry groups, Sunday School classes, and individuals to make this a part of their gift giving this season.

Gift Giving Instructions

+ Choose a Tag Select a tag from the tree. Each tag has two parts: a top copy and a back copy.

Take the top copy with you. Fill out the back copy, then place it in the designated bag near the tree.

+ Prepare Your Gift Wrap the gift and attach the top copy of the tag securely to the package. Please return your wrapped gift to the church by Sunday, November 30.

+ Thoughtful Giving Feel free to include a card or note in the package. The suggestions on the tag are only ideas; give as you feel led.

+ Pray for the Recipient Take a moment to pray for the individual who will receive your gift.

New Sermon Series

Sundays at 9 & 11am / Communion this Sunday

The holiday season is a time for celebrating with family and friends, but it is also a time that can cause anxiety and dread as we prepare for conversations about divisive issues. In this series, Pastor Joel will explore the way Scripture addresses conflict, divisive issues, and the hope of the gospel to bring reconciliation and healing to tense or broken relationships. Rather than avoiding difficult topics entirely or fueling the flames of controversy, Christians have the option of faithful engagement.
