This Week's Newsletter
April 28, 2021
Fellow Servants of Jesus Christ,

Wow! Didn’t our students do a wonderful job leading us in worship on Sunday. They knocked it out of the park! Our youth worship band ushered us into the Lord’s presence through song. Our singers used their beautiful voices to praise the greatness and goodness of God. Our dancers celebrated the presence of the Lord in our lives. And our students inspired us by powerfully sharing with us the Word of God. Clearly, the Lord has begun a good work in our students and “will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ!” (Philippians 1:6). We are grateful for all of those who faithfully invested in the lives of the next generation. What a blessing to see our students growing in the Lord!

Speaking of worship: Our Session voted to reinstate the 11:00 am Traditional Service beginning on Sunday, June 6! This will be a Sunday in which we will celebrate communion as we reestablish our normal worship schedule:

8:30 am Traditional Worship
10:45 am AWE (Contemporary Worship)
11:00 am Traditional Worship

Again, this change is a little over a month off, but we would like you to plan for it now. We will still need to wear masks and social distance during all of our services.

Let’s faithful in gathering for worship as praise God for who he is and what he has done!

Pastor Jim

Lexington School District One Backpack Program

Saxe Gotha will be partnering with Lexington School District One to support the Backpack Program. As a partner, we will help fill backpacks and send them to schools for weekly distribution to children who have great need.

Food items should be left in the Narthex, Atrium (when the church re-opens) or outside of the main office in the box labeled "backpack ministry." Monetary donations can be made to SGPC with “backpack ministry” in the memo line.
Current Sermon Series: Characters
Characters gives us a glimpse into the lives of people of faith. During the next year, we will be challenged as we dig deeper into the context and setting of each person’s life – gaining new insights into the world in which they lived and connecting their world with ours. Along the way, truths that impact our lives today will be discovered as we see the challenges, struggles and opportunities faced by people seeking to follow God. In many of these stories, we will find ourselves and our need for a Savior. We pray that through these studies, we will be transformed and better equipped to fulfill God’s purposes in our world today.
Moms in Ministry
Saxe Gotha has a new group just for Moms...we will connect you with other moms (with kids under the age of 21) who are going through the same challenges you face. This is a place to share your concerns, be encouraged by God's Word, and enjoy fellowship with moms.

Please like and follow this group on Facebook at SG Moms in Ministry or on Instagram.
