From the Rector
Dear Parishioners and Friends,

There are still about two weeks left of Eastertide, but today I am thinking ahead to Pentecost. Pentecost is one of the great feasts of the Church, and really marks the beginning of the Christian movement throughout the world. It is a day in which we celebrate the gift of the Holy Ghost, who gives us the power to be the people of God and disciples of Jesus Christ. It is also a time to think about renewal in the Church, both broadly and at the parish level.

Throughout the last two + years, we have all had to make a lot of adjustments in our personal and corporate lives. At St. Mary's, we have largely returned to "normal." Some things we began as ways to stay connected, like live streaming the services, will become permanent fixtures and a reminder of the time we spent in exile. The streaming service remains a balm to those who cannot be physically present in church, and has attracted a loyal following. It has also had the effect of being a "church shopping" tool, and has blessed us with a few new parishioners.

As part of the theme of renewal on Pentecost Sunday (June 5), we will reboot our 8:00 a.m. Sunday service. It will be a simple, spoken service that will last about 30 minutes.
Of course, I will need volunteers to step up to the plate to help make this possible. We specifically need readers and altar servers. So come in your tennis whites, golf kit, or however you are. See you in church.

Easter Blessings,
Father Rick
