From the Rector
Dear Parishioners and Friends,

One of the things that makes Tuxedo special is the lifelong connections and friendships that I have seen, developed over many decades. While things do change, and people move here and there, their bonds remain strong. While Pete and I have been here only five years, I know that we, too, will have treasured lifelong connections and friendships from Tuxedo, no matter where life takes us.

This weekend we will celebrate this special characteristic of our community as we honor the life and legacy of Jim Cathcart. Jim and his wife, Charlen, have been members of the Tuxedo community for decades. They were also once very involved at St. Mary's in everything from vestry, to choir, to Sunday school. In fact, it was Charlen who got our Sunday school program started in the 1970's. Their daughter, Freeda, even worked as our sexton in her teen years.

Besides their service to St. Mary's, many people have fond memories or rounds of golf and games at racquets. I hope that you can join us for Jim's memorial service this Saturday (details below).

Blessings,
Father Rick

Child Watch Service
We are so pleased to announce the return of our child watch service. Parishioners attending our regular 10am service with any age child can avail of child watch. The child watch will be available in our newly designed family room located next to our offices. The service is available from 9:45am till 11am. Our young attendees are most welcome to join us and all our parishioners for coffee hour after service in Bentley Hall. Please call the office at 845-351-5122 for any further information.
Town of Tuxedo Summer Camp
This year the Town Camp is the only camp available as the school
district is not running a separate one, although some of the
activities will be based on the school campus. They are also very
excited to be returning to the WeeWah Beach Club to swim, play
volleyball and enjoy the sand!
The camp runs for five weeks from July 6th to August 12th; Monday
through Thursday with special outings scheduled for Fridays
This year, more than ever, there are families for whom the cost is
prohibitive: $660 for the first child and $560 for siblings. St Mary’s
Outreach is subsidizing the fees for these families who have been
recommended by the Guidance Counsellors. We will pay the sibling
rate and have asked the parents to contribute $100 per child.
We are subsidizing 15 children @ $460 each and would be very
grateful for donations towards the $6,900.
Please consider sponsoring a child or donating a part of the cost!
Thank you! Sue Heywood
