From the Rector
Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Over the last two years, we have all had to deal with disruptions in our lives. Last Christmas, due to whichever variant was raging at the time, my mother made the prudent but disappointing decision to remain at home in Arizona and not travel to New York to spend the holiday with Pete and me. That means that it has been a whole year since we have seen each other. And as we grow older, we appreciate more and more just how precious our time is.

On Tuesday, mom made the trip out and is safely ensconced at the rectory. Lauren and Shaun also came up from the city, so it feels like we have the gotten the band back together!

One of the things we are celebrating is Mom's official retirement date, July 1. After twenty-eight years, she is retiring from her position as professor of criminal justice at Northern Arizona University. Mom started college in her thirties, so I have watched firsthand as she earned her degrees, published books and papers, and formed a generation of students. We are all very proud of her accomplishments. Well, done, Mom!

I hope that all of you will be able to reconnect with family and friends this summer to share the joys of your lives.

Blessings,
Father Rick

Town of Tuxedo Summer Camp
This year the Town Camp is the only camp available as the school
district is not running a separate one, although some of the
activities will be based on the school campus. They are also very
excited to be returning to the WeeWah Beach Club to swim, play
volleyball and enjoy the sand!
The camp runs for five weeks from July 6th to August 12th; Monday
through Thursday with special outings scheduled for Fridays
This year, more than ever, there are families for whom the cost is
prohibitive: $660 for the first child and $560 for siblings. St Mary’s
Outreach is subsidizing the fees for these families who have been
recommended by the Guidance Counsellors. We will pay the sibling
rate and have asked the parents to contribute $100 per child.
We are subsidizing 15 children @ $460 each and would be very
grateful for donations towards the $6,900.
Please consider sponsoring a child or donating a part of the cost!
Thank you! Sue Heywood
