From the Rector
Dear Parishioners and Friends,

One of the treasured traditions of summer is graduation. It is a time to gather and give thanks for many years of education and support, as well as a time to send the graduates off with best wishes for success in their future.

As rector of St. Mary's, one of my duties is to represent our church a the various graduation ceremonies in Tuxedo. Earlier in the month, I attended the Tuxedo Park School's graduation ceremony, where I offered the invocation. Just last night, I attended the graduation ceremony at George F. Baker High School in the town of Tuxedo.

At that ceremony, St. Mary's grants two scholarships to two students "who have shown determination and success in academic studies and the ability to lead and serve in the school and the wider community." Congratulations to this year's recipients, Martin Chavez and Zoe Vaught.

There is also The Rector's Award, which goes "to a George F. Baker High School graduate
who is pursuing a college education, and who has shown leadership and service
to St. Mary’s and the wider Tuxedo community." Congratulations to this year's recipient, Katrina Patrick.

Raising children is truly a team effort, and we give thanks for the parents, teachers, staff, and administrators whose passion for education forms the next generations with skill and care.

Blessings,
Father Rick

Movie Nights
The first of our free Summer Movie Night series is starting Friday June 24th
Town of Tuxedo Summer Camp
This year the Town Camp is the only camp available as the school
district is not running a separate one, although some of the
activities will be based on the school campus. They are also very
excited to be returning to the WeeWah Beach Club to swim, play
volleyball and enjoy the sand!
The camp runs for five weeks from July 6th to August 12th; Monday
through Thursday with special outings scheduled for Fridays
This year, more than ever, there are families for whom the cost is
prohibitive: $660 for the first child and $560 for siblings. St Mary’s
Outreach is subsidizing the fees for these families who have been
recommended by the Guidance Counsellors. We will pay the sibling
rate and have asked the parents to contribute $100 per child.
We are subsidizing 15 children @ $460 each and would be very
grateful for donations towards the $6,900.
Please consider sponsoring a child or donating a part of the cost!
Thank you! Sue Heywood
