From the Rector
"All creatures of our God and King, lift up your voices, let us sing: Alleluia! Alleluia!" Hymn 400

In the Anglican tradition, our prayers and hymns are replete with references to God's creation, and the sacredness therein. From the tiny sparrows to majestic "purple-headed mountains," to the stars and planets "forever singing as they shine, 'The hand that made us is divine,'" we recognize that we humans are not alone in praising the Almighty One.

With that in mind, each year at this time, we welcome our furry, feathery, or scaly friends to receive a special blessing in honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. It is a wonderful service for all ages that reminds us of our role as stewards of creation, as well as God's love for us and all that he has made. Please join us on the Great Lawn just after the 10:00 service. Pets are, of course, welcome inside during the service as well.

If your pet doesn't travel well, or if you would like to remember a pet that has passed, you may bring a photo and receive a special prayer.

Blessings,
Father Rick

St. Francis Sunday
In a longstanding Anglican tradition, pets are always welcome in church, but especially on St. Francis Sunday! Please bring your furry, feathery, and scaly friends for a special blessing of the animals after the 10am service on October 10th, on the great lawn of St. Mary's. All are welcome to attend the inside service and/or just the outdoor pet blessing. If your pets don't travel well, or you'd like to remember pets who have passed, please bring a photo. Visit our Facebook page for photos and video from last year's pet blessings.

For those joining us virtually, please send a photo of your pet with their name to [email protected] by October 8th and we will include them in the pet blessing service.

Administrative Position Open
St. Mary's is looking to hire a part-time Administrative Assistant so that we can reopen our parish office on a regular basis. Under the supervision of the Rector, this role will provide general office support to the staff, committees, and congregation, in order to support the ministries and mission of St. Mary’s. This work includes, but is not limited to: data and records management, phone and email support, supplies and vendor management, communications work, managing use of church space by parish and outside groups, supporting church ministries and committees, and collaborating with volunteers. The Administrative Assistant will be a resource person for both members and non-members, and a welcoming and responsive presence in our church’s office. Please review the detailed position description and let Father Rick know if you or someone you know is interested in the position!
Ministries Survey
We have a long history of spiritual, educational, and social programming here at St. Mary’s. This moment presents us with a great opportunity to reboot and reimagine those ministries, particularly those for children and youth. But we need your input and involvement. To that end, we’ve created a survey -- it’s short and just takes a few minutes to complete. You can take the survey online or get a paper copy at church.
