Parking Lot Repaving and OFFSITE Worship on Sunday, July 12

The congregation was so wonderful to support the "Pave the Way" fundraising to repave the parking lot and soon it will be happening. The parking lot will be repaved and unavailable from Monday, July 6 through at least Wednesday, July 15. If you need to stop by the church, the driveway closest to the parsonage will be available for parking. This means that on Sunday, July 12 at 9:30 am we will share worship with St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at 2440 Conestoga Rd, Chester Springs, PA 19425. This will be a great time to connect with our "sister" congregation with whom we collaborate, especially on areas like Youth Ministry, Rise Against Hunger and Vacation Bible School.

VBS Registration is Now Open!

Get ready for the brightest week of the year! Our Illumination Station Vacation Bible School will run from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon from Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31. Registration is open to all students from age 4 (by 1/1/26) through 5th grade (completed 2025-2026). Adults and children who have completed 5th grade or higher are encouraged to volunteer to help out. More information and registration for campers and volunteers can be found online. Paper forms are available in the narthex.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Collection

All this month we are collecting peanut butter and jelly for the Chester County Food Bank as they prepare to give out their summer student food boxes. PB&J is a big part of the giveaway so that school-age children can easily prepare a lunch for themselves during the summer months when school lunches are not available. Please add PB&J (plastic jars only) to your grocery list to bring to the church though Sunday, June 14, National Children’s Day.

Youth Protection Policy Training

YOUTH PROTECTION POLICY TRAINING for adults who work with youth and children in our congregation will be offered on multiple occasions in the coming weeks. If you have not received training in our Youth Protection Policy within the past five years and plan to help with ASP, Vacation Bible School, or any other upcoming events that involve children and youth, please plan to attend one of these trainings:

We’ll also have crafts, hot dogs, games, ice cream, music and more coming! The event is open to the public, young and old alike! To support the Chester County Food Bank, a donation of a jar of peanut butter or jelly is greatly appreciated (plastic jar only please). Please let us know if you plan to attend or are able to help us make the event a success by signing up online.

Organist/Accompanist or Assistant Music Director Position

Our team is ready to start receiving application materials for this staff position. You'll notice we are advertising in two different ways. We remain committed to our use of the organ in traditional worship and if needed, will be restructuring the Music Director position to ensure continuity in this area. We will ultimately select the new person and role that best align with the lead applicant's specific skills and heart to ensure the best fit for our music ministry. If you are interested or know someone who might be a good candidate, please check out StPaulsLionville.org/careers to learn more.

Aide/Companion Wanted

Please see the request below from a local family:

We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual to work as an aide/companion for our 25-year-old daughter who has intellectual disabilities. You would take her out in the community to places like the gym, malls, movies, parks, swimming, etc. It pays $28.67 an hour plus 72 cents a mile when you are driving her. We have a company who administers payroll and will help you get any required clearances. The hours are Monday and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 2:00 or from 10:30 to 2:30. Please call Nancy Rich at 610-357-4859 for more information.

Help Lead Worship Behind the Scenes!

St. Paul’s is looking for volunteers to join our Worship Tech Team to help us "worship in spirit and truth." By joining this team, you’ll provide needed support for the worship team, allowing our audio technicians to focus their expertise on mastering the sound while you handle the visuals. You’ll play a vital role by timing slide transitions to stay just ahead of the congregation, ensuring everyone can sing and speak along confidently.

  • The Perks: Enjoy Dave’s great company and reserved balcony seating with the best view in the house while you serve!
  • The Role: Advance slides in OBS and assist with technical needs during worship.
  • The Commitment: Serve once every 4–6 weeks. An annual commitment is preferred for continuity.
  • Requirements: Attention to detail, basic tech skills, and a heart for our mission.
  • Training: Full support provided by our Director of Music and Worship Technician.

Coffee Fellowship Help

It may be summer time, but everyone still likes sharing a cup of coffee and some snacks after service. Please considering signing up to host an upcoming coffee fellowship. Sign ups also available in the narthex.

Children's Bulletins Available

Did you know that each week there are bulletins available just for children? Coordinated with that day’s readings, the children’s bulletins give children activities to engage them in Bible themes. Children’s bulletins can be found in the pamphlet holder on the table near the children’s busy bags in the narthex.

Musical Notes From Lindsay

June 14: The Start of the Exodus Series!

Our reading on this day is Exodus 2:1-10 where we hear the story of Moses being saved from the water by Pharaoh’s daughter.

The image of "being saved" from a harsh climate appears in many religious and secular sources (texts, song, film), and the sense of relief experienced from our witnessing this is universally understood. Whether that environment is the desert, outer space, or an uninhabited island, we experience the protagonist's pain and struggle as if it were our own; likewise, when the rescue ship arrives, we experience the relief associated with that.

Today's selections draw inspiration from that idea, paralleled with Moses' escape from certain death as a newborn Hebrew boy, and his rescue through his mother's shrewd actions, bringing him to Pharaoh’s daughter.

Gathering Hymn: ELW 331 As the Deer Runs to the River

As the deer runs to the river, parched and weary from the chase, we have come from hurt and hurry, thirsting for your healing grace...Christ, we come from desert places, deepest thirst unsatisfied. Lead us to the waters flowing from the cross on which you died.

Song of the Day: Desert Song

I loved this selection from our Lenten season, and reflecting on Moses' rescue from the water called me to include it in today's worship. The call to lift up praise to God regardless of external life circumstances can be difficult to answer, but the reward is immeasurable.

Sending Song: Mighty to Save

Returning again since our First Responders' Sunday service, the song's description of the crucifixion and resurrection make Mighty to Save a fitting choir during the Easter season; also, in keeping with our themes this day, it allows us to underline the awesome power of God, and his ability to move the mountains that present themselves to us throughout our lives.
