A Word from Pastor Robin

Dear Beloved of God,

The season of Epiphany invites us to notice light—often quiet, sometimes unexpected—breaking into the world and into our lives. Guided by a star, the Magi discovered that God’s glory was not confined to palaces or power, but revealed in vulnerability, love, and presence. Epiphany reminds us that Christ continues to be made known among us: in worship and prayer, in acts of kindness, and in the steady faithfulness of this beloved community.

I also want to share a brief personal update and my deep gratitude. As I continue my journey toward relief from cancer, I am surrounded by the skilled medical care of MD Anderson, prayer, and the sustaining love of God and from David and my family. I am grateful beyond words for your prayers, notes, and quiet text of encouragement. They have been a true epiphany of grace to me—signs of Christ’s light shining through you.

After a few days of testing this week and last, I now have a care plan. For now, my treatment will involve surgery and radiation treatment. We are very grateful the cancer has been caught early. We invite you to join us in prayer that it be contained and not spread through the blood stream. At this time, I plan to be away from the church January and February to focus on my health. I have every confidence in the wise leadership of the newly formed executive team, the vestry and you as the body of Christ. We believe as Episcopalians, prayer is the work of the church and there are no bystanders. Everyone is equipped by God’s grace to do something to serve. It might be phone calls to other members, prayer for God’s will for St. Timothy’s and wisdom and strength for its leaders. Help is needed in every area, so feel free to try a ministry on—you might even find you enjoy it.

Thank you for walking this season with me and David, we are trusting that God is still revealing healing, hope, and wholeness among us. May the light of Christ guide our steps and strengthen our hearts. You remain in my prayers!

With love and gratitude,

Pastor Robin+

Opportunities and Events

Epiphany Celebration & King Cake

This Sunday at the end of the 10:30 service, you are encouraged to follow our Wise Men to the Parish Hall for a celebration of Epiphany, featuring King's Cake and a viewing of members' nativity displays.

If you have a nativity display you'd like to share, or you'd like to help set up, contact Sandra Weir.

St. Timothy’s Sanctuary Moving to the Epiphany Season

As Altar Guild transitions this Sunday from Christmas to the Epiphany Season, we need support to move poinsettias out, pack up our Nativity Scene, and take down our wreaths. If you are available to help, please contact Kim Lehnhoff. Kim and other Altar Guild members will be in the sanctuary after our Kings’ Cake reception to work with our Nativity Scene figurines, (getting them back in their boxes,) and take down wreaths.

Parishioners may take a poinsettia from the Narthex and/or the altar after the end of the 10:30 service.

Contact Kim with any questions.

Please Support our Hungry Neighbors

As we start a new year, please remember our neighbors who live with food insecurity. As you do your grocery shopping, I’d like to encourage you to pick up a little extra for The Food Basket. So, what do they need? The following items are given out every week, and your donations keep this important ministry going.

  • Canned soups, (any flavor or type)
  • Canned meats such as tuna, chicken, salmon, SPAM, etc.
  • Dry pasta such as spaghetti, rotini, egg noodles. Ramen, Mac & Cheese and elbow macaroni are NOT NEEDED.
  • Canned vegetables. Green beans and corn are NOT NEEDED.
  • Canned fruit.
  • Canned beans such as baked beans, navy beans, black beans, etc. Canned pinto beans are NOT NEEDED.
  • Breakfast items such as cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars.

You may be wondering about the items listed as “NOT NEEDED”. These are not needed for now because the Food Basket was recently able to purchase them in bulk. They may be needed in the future. If you donate one of these items, they will be distributed along with the ones that are in the warehouse.

Altar Flowers Changes 2026

In 2026, our set of 2 Altar floral arrangements will be present at regular St. Timothy’s Sunday services only on the occasions when parishioners provide flowers for special thanksgivings or remembrances. Floral arrangements may be given in memory, thanksgiving or celebration of whomever and/or for whatever the person/family donating flowers chooses for that selected Sunday. A pamphlet by the Flower Chart in the Narthex outlining this process is available. Please do note on our wall-mounted flower chart the Sunday(s) you wish to provide flowers and sign on that date. We have 2 local floral shops—Carriage Flowers and LJ Flower Co.—we use. By the Monday or Tuesday of the week before your selected Sunday contact your choice of shop to arrange for and pay the flower shop directly for your 2 arrangements order. You will no longer provide a check to St. Timothy’s for flowers. Kim Lehnhoff will coordinate flowers and is available to help with any step in the process of arranging for your flowers. Contact Kim at (979) 299-9777 or email kim60lehn@gmail.com with questions or for help.
