Resources
As your Pastor charged with caring for your soul, I wanted to share these resources available for you to access on your own. I offer them with a prayer:

Lord God, Creator of All that is we give thanks for your open arms that we might abide in you. Please meet these beloved children of yours in the places of greatest need. Guide them and uphold them. In Jesus Name. Amen.

With love and care,

For those Needing a Place to Retreat, Pray and Regroup
The Ruah Center at the Villa de Matel Convent is ideal. You can go for a day or overnight. The fee is based on what you can afford.

Once a month they have Centering prayer training / group participation.
For Caregivers
A resource which was a lifeline during my Mother’s Alzheimer’s was the The Alzheimer's Association's 24 Hr. Help line. Your person doesn’t have to have
Alzheimer's, any form of memory issues they will talk with you or the person struggling. They have licensed counselors you can speak with. It was helpful for me to have a non-biased person to talk with and discuss changes I would see. They helped me understand what was happening , listen to my grief and help me strategize how to deal with family dynamics.

Memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's help 24/7 – call us toll-free anytime day or night at 1.800.272.3900 (tel:1.800.272.3900) Just ask to speak to a counselor for reliable confidential listening.
A Compassion Meditation for Care Givers: This 6 minute meditation recording can help make the difference when you are at your limit. It’s permission to take time to tend to yourself in the midst of caring for another.
Those in Need of Self-Compassion or Compassion for Others
Did you know practicing self- compassion has proven health benefits. On her TEDx talk on self-esteem versus self-compassion, Dr. Kristin Neff with University of Texas, shares how self-esteem is based on comparison. However, self-compassion grows not only health for self but care and compassion for others. Research has shown it to reduce stress and the negative health effects of stress, anxiety, blood pressure and more. More information can be found at www.self-compassion.org
or TEDx: The Space Between Self Esteem and Self Compassion.

I highly recommend you listen to the meditations she has from 6-20 minutes long on this site.
