Rector's Forum "Common Questions about Faith"
Resumes February 10th in the Blue Room
  • Don't all religions lead to God?
  • I believe in Christ but why be part of a church?
  • Is the Bible reliable?
  • Is there rational evidence for God's existence?
  • How can I separate spiritual truth from fiction?
  • How can a loving God allow suffering?
  • Doesn't science and religion conflict?
  • Christians come across judgmental.
  • Isn't religion just a crutch or at best a cultural construct?
Sew with us!  February 16 and 17

By now, you know that many of us are sewing washable feminine hygiene supplies for Bwindi schoolgirls.

Please join us for some social sewing, and a chance to learn how to make the pantie protectors, absorbent pads and bags.  We will provide sewing machines and supplies, or bring your own.  We will be in the Parish Hall.
  • Saturday Feb. 16, 10:00-2:00
  • Sunday Feb. 17, between services and 12:00-1:00
  • We also have a sewing group that meets
If you wish to sew on your own, please pick up sewing patterns and instructions in the hallway behind the name tag rack.  This is also where you can drop off supply donations, and drop off your completed sanitary supplies.

Contact Sondra Griner or Dale Rasco for more information.
Help kids learn how to read
St. Timothy's started the new year off by forming a new local ministry at Elizabet Ney Elementary School.  An enthusiastic group from our church has begun to serve struggling first graders by reading to and /or listening to single students read.  Margaret Jones, Ann McClendon, John Pitts, Jane Power , Mary Stark and Susan Buell volunteer once a week from 9:15-10:15 a.m.  If you would like to work with these eager and adorable children please call Susan Buell at 297-3024.
Acolyte Training

Acolyte training will be held on February 17th after the 10:30 am service. Pizza will be provided. Anyone interested in becoming an acolyte should contact Mary Young, Angela McCabe, or Tony Janeshek.

Lent Madness is Coming!

Lent Madness began in 2010 as the brainchild of the Rev. Tim Schenck from St. John the Evangelist in Hingham, Massachusetts. In 2012 he partnered with Forward Movement and Executive Director Scott Gunn to create The Lent Madness website and broaden the number of people involved in the process, with Tim and Scott serving as the self-appointed Supreme Executive Committee. In seeking a fun, engaging way for people to learn about the men and women comprising the Church's Calendar of Saints, Tim (and Scott) came up with this unique Lenten devotion. Combining a love of sports with a passion for the lives of the saints, Lent Madness was born. The format is straightforward: 32 saints are placed into a tournament-like single elimination bracket. Each pairing remains open for a set period of time and people vote for their favorite saint. 16 saints make it to the Round of the Saintly Sixteen; eight advance to the Round of the Elate Eight; four make it to the Faithful Four; two to the Championship; and the winner is awarded the coveted Golden Halo. Look for materials in the coming days on a table in the Narthex near you so you, too, may join in the process of "Who Will Win the Golden Halo!" See Kim Lehnhoff and her bracketologist, Mark Lehnhoff, with questions!

Looking ahead to Sunday

Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany

Save the Date for Carnival!

St. Timothy's Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper  will be here before we know it. At 5:30 pm on Tuesday, March 5th,  enjoy some cool jazz from the Brazoswood High School Jazz Band and eat some hot, hot pancakes. Krewe sign up sheets are in the hall by our patio entrance.

We NEED your help! Most decorations will go up Sunday, March 3rd after 10:30 service, but help Monday, the 4th  is welcomed as well. We also really need help cleaning up after the Supper as we prepare for Ash Wednesday services. This year we are selling Pancake Krewe t-shirts for the event. We are hopeful to see 50. If we do the price will be $11 each.  Please sign up for a shirt by February 10. Sign up for a Krewe shift.  Contact Kim/Mark Lehnhoff with questions.

The Food Basket

Are you looking thru your garage and going "I have multiples of these things, what can I do?" I have an answer - the Food Basket is looking for the following items. We are looking for the list below to have onsite when we have work teams come to volunteer/work in the orchard & garden areas. Please share this with your congregations!
If you have any of these items - or would like to make a purchase and donate, that would be wonderful!
Blessings, Lisa Owsley, Executive Director
