Our Weekly Blast!

Children age 5 and up bring their backpacks to church on Sunday, August 12th to the 10:30 service and we will pray over the children and bless their backpacks.

Help Local Students Start the School Year Off Right
Crossover Community Church was integral in helping BISD students, but the church closed and up to 1,000 students, primarily from Freeport, were left without a resource for school supplies and other necessities. Several non-profits have banded together including Brazosport Rotary who we are partnering with. Wear your St. Timothy's t-shirt and come out and help on Sunday, August 12. We need could use at least 15 volunteers to help distribute supplies. All of the supplies have been purchased. Other groups will be present doing immunizations, haircuts and eye exams, plus the students will be fed.
Sign up on the sheet outside the Narthex and meet us at 1:00 on Sunday, August 12th at Freeport Intermediate School from 2-5.
The Hall Opens Wednesday, August 15
The Hall opens Wednesday, August 15th, to Lake Jackson Intermediate students. It will be opened daily, Monday-Thursday, 3:15-5:00 p.m. This year additional assistance is provided by Kathy Hutchison, Mary Stark and Rick Griner. Also, Harriet Cutshall and Sharon McKey remain on staff. If you would like to help/volunteer in any way, please contact Sharon McKey at 979-285-3567. Sharon will be pre-registering students on Monday, August 13th, at Lake Jackson Intermediate "Meet the Teacher" day. As well, forms will be available at the church office.
The Rector's Forum Returns August 26
The  Rector's Forum will resume August 26th at 9:15 a.m. in the Blue Room.

Our team of eight parishioners from St. Timothy's will be leaving in three months from now, and we really need your help. The need in the Bwindi Region overall, with the Batwa tribe and at the Bwindi Community Hospital is significant. What follows is a needs list of items we would like to take with us, focusing on the school children and on the mothers in the Maternity area who have just delivered.

  • Scarves - handmade or store bought - the brighter the colors the better (Approx. 50-60)
  • Classic crocs - men, women & children in assorted sizes & colors - no sizes larger than a man's 10 (Approx. 50)
  • Book bags - being made by our sewing ministry with bible verses on them
  • School supplies: 20-30 packages of pencils and ball point pens, hand pencil sharpeners, medium sized spiral notebooks and composition notebooks (standard ruled lined paper)
  • Deflated soccer balls, inexpensive hand air pumps with needles, and jump ropes
  • Nightgowns - lightweight and long (for women in maternity ward) (Qty. 25)
  • "Momma packs" for women who have just delivered (Qty. 40 complete packs
    • Lightweight reusable cloth-type grocery bag with handles containing:
      • Newborn diapers loose (not in box but in ziplocks)
      • Sanitary pads for the mothers
      • Two (2) flat packages of baby wipes
