Our Weekly Blast!

Don't forget to set your clock forward!

Friday Evening Prayer as a Lenten Discipline
Can you make some quiet time for God at the end of your work week? Evening
prayers can help you thank Him for the day's blessings and ask for His forgiveness of your sins and protection. It is an excellent time to take stock of your week's activities in a quiet atmosphere where, in His presence you can hear His word, make an
examination of conscience and say a heartfelt  Act of Contrition  followed by prayers .

Join us any Friday at 5:15 in the St. Timothy's chapel. The entire service lasts about 30 minutes.
Lenten Small Groups
Lenten Small Group Study - "Living the Resurrection Reality," is this year's Lenten topic. Almost all Christians know about the resurrection but people can sometimes take the commemoration of Jesus' resurrection very lightly, or even grow a bit dull to what it means for us personally. This 6 week study focuses on 1 Corinthians 15, the Apostle Paul's explanation of what it means. Join us for this study as we journey together in Lent towards the cross of Christ.

  • Sundays, 4:30 p.m. at Dale & Sylvia Walker's home. Starting March 10th.
  • Sundays, 5:00 p.m. at Emily Osborn's home. Starting March 10th.
  • Mondays, 7:00 p.m. at Rich Tillman & Laurel Owen's home. Starting March 11th.

Sign-up sheets can be found in the hallway by the Welcome Center.
The Food Basket

29.5 pounds of food delivered Tuesday. An idea for Lent: Give 40 cans of vegetables, 40 pounds of beans or 40 cans of tuna, or 40 jars of spaghetti sauce. We could really make a difference!

Thanks for your generosity to help our neighbors in need!
Social Sewing for the Batwa Schoolgirls, March 9 & 10

Thanks to all of you who joined us on our February sewing days.  We enjoyed each others' company, and we made great progress on our contribution for the Batwa girls.  Our little sewing project will help keep the girls in school, and benefits them, their families, and their community. Our next sewing days will be Saturday, March 9 from 10:00 - 2:00, and Sunday March 10 from 9:00 - 1:00.

Our group sewing days are open to sewers of all skill levels.   If you are a beginner sewer, you can get some practice on the St. Timothy's sewing machine, or bring your own, and we'll help you learn how to use it.  The bags and liners are great beginner projects.  If you don't sew at all, we can use people who help with things like ironing, tracing patterns and cutting out fabric.

If you plan to sew at home, you can pick up fabric, supplies and patterns at the table in the hallway behind the name tag stand.  Contact Sondra Griner or Dale Rasco for more information.
Lent Madness begins March 7th!!

Catch your Lent Madness Saintly Scorecard and bracket in the Narthex!! Here's how to participate: on the weekdays of Lent, information is posted at Lent Madness about two different saints. Each pairing remains open for 24 hours as participants read about and then vote to determine which saint moves on to the next round. Sixteen saints make it to the Round of the Saintly Sixteen; eight advance to the Round of the Elate Eight; four make it to the Faithful Four; two to the Championship; and the winner is awarded the coveted Golden Halo. Check with Kim and Mark Lehnhoff for questions! Who will win the Golden Halo???
