Our Weekly Blast!

Celebrate Jazz Sunday on November 4

The jazz sextet Jazz Sunday will be providing the music for our 10:30 service on November 4th!  Jazz Sunday has made several appearances at St. Timothy's and their exciting take on hymns of the church is a must hear.

Richard Birk, leader and founder of the band has also written music especially for St. Timothy's for the liturgical music of our service.  Mr. Birk founded Jazz Sunday in 1990 and the band has performed in Texas and around the country including the 2006 Episcopal General Convention in Columbus, Ohio.  Birk is associate professor and coordinator of music at Brazosport College.  He has conducted the Community College All-Star Jazz Ensemble at the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) in New York and has served as the president of IAJE-Texas.  Richard plays trombone and will be joined by drums, saxophone, trumpet, piano, bass and a vocalist.  You won't want to miss this spectacular service!

Our Stewardship Campaign for 2019 is underway led by our Stewardship Committee:   Bob Bohley, Janet Jones and Laurel Owen with along with Rev. Kimbrough and Ron Weeks (2018 Chairperson)

This campaign is not a high pressure, budget-driven exercise, but is an opportunity for parishioners to reflect on the gifts we have received from the Lord and to consider the  spiritual enrichment in each or our own lives by the act of giving back.  The campaign culminates on Consecration Sunday, November 11.  Please plan to attend one of the morning services and then the Consecration Luncheon following the 10:30 service.  Check your mail for an invitation letter and RSVP card.
WHO IS YOUR OLIVER AND EMILY?
In the past when I talked to people who have come to St Timothy's I often hear it was Oliver and Emily Osborn who reached out either before they came or the first time they came to visit our church.  Very often they immediately invited them to have Sunday lunch with them when they were able to spend quality time with the individual or couple.  This was a gift of Oliver and Emily that they used to bring Jesus into the life of others as a member of our church family.

So, who were your Oliver and Emily that brought you to St Timothy's?   Who made a difference in your life by reaching out to you?   How did they do it?  What made you decide to join the St Timothy Church Family?

So with that said, to whom and when will you be an Oliver and Emily to someone else who is seeking a new life and a church family?  We all have different gifts to use.   What are yours gifts and how can you use them to bring others to Christ and to our church family.

It takes an effort but we are all called to bring others into the family of Christ.

Get a Substitute:   Ministry Scheduler
St. Timothy's uses a software package named Ministry Scheduler Pro to manage our volunteers and ministry schedules. This makes it easy to check your ministry commitments, let us know when you are unavailable, and request a substitute. If you have an  iOS  or  Android  device, you can use the MSP mobile app. Or, connect over your browser to

If you are on the schedule, you should be receiving email reminders for each Sunday when you are scheduled to serve. If you find that you are not able to serve after the schedule has been produced, you can just go into the system, select the correct date, and select the
"Request Sub" option. The other people who are on that ministry list will receive a notice that a substitute is needed.

Questions? Sondra Griner is our scheduler, and is happy to help. Email: sgriner@sbcglobal.net.
