You Did It! We Reached Our Giving Tuesday Goal!
You did it! Thanks to 95 incredible donors, St Joes raised $41,210 on Giving Tuesday! And once we hit our goal, we unlocked another $25K from an anonymous donor, giving us a grand total of $66,210!

Without the support of our SJ community: alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends, St Joseph High School would not be where it is today - a premiere Catholic College Preparatory School. Each and every gift is crucial and important to our impact and growth. THANK YOU.

Dorothy Miller '84, School Nurse

Mrs Miller is a proud SJ Alum from the Class of 1984. After graduating from St Joes, she went on to Fairfield University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Prior to St Joes, Mrs Miller worked at Bridgeport Hospital in the Women’s Care Center for several years. In 2004, she began working for the Town of Trumbull as an elementary school nurse. But when she heard the position at SJ was available, she requested to return "home”.
Mrs Miller is an avid sports fan and enjoys attending SJ sporting events with her family. She volunteers with the athletics department at football and basketball games, and finds it is a great way to see the students outside of the school day doing what they enjoy.
She considers herself very blessed to be part of the SJ community living the daily commitment to family and faith. Mrs Miller has two children who are also alums! Her daughter, Casey, graduated in 2010 and her son, Shane, in 2014.

Librarian Recommended: Book of the Week!
In 2009 Gujiao, China 16-year-old Luli and 17-year-old Yun, best friends, have aged out of their orphanage and are now enjoying the independence of factory work. Their wages and dorm life offer an exciting taste of freedom, as does Yun’s new boyfriend, Yong. Yun’s jealous ex-boyfriend says that Yong is illegally trafficking brides to the countryside, but Yun refuses to believe it. When she becomes pregnant, however, Yun, Luli, and Yong each have their own agendas, and their decisions and deceits result in an action-packed chain of events. During this time, China’s One-Child Policy made unmarried and multiple pregnancies illegal for most: mothers would be fined and not even be allowed into a hospital to give birth. Told in the two girls’ alternating points of view, readers will be drawn into their emotional lives through sharing both their quiet, day-to-day routines and the moments of high drama, all of which are direct results of policies that trapped ordinary citizens and forced them into making terrible decisions.
