Senior students will have a special Mass and Senior Luncheon. 
 
For Parents: 
Parents of current seniors are welcome to join us for the Homecoming Assembly (begins at 12:30pm). Seniors will process into the gym and we will announce the members of our homecoming court!

We hope everyone enjoys this celebration of great history, pride, and family that is St Joes!

The "Faces of St Joes" Live Stream is Back!
Join Us as we Stream Walkathon!
Set your alarm, mark your calendar or stick a post-it on your phone -- just be sure to join us tomorrow, October 16 around 8:20am on facebook live for our Faces of St Joes series! We'll be streaming the start of Walk-a-thon!

Walk-a-thon is St Joe's largest student-led fundraiser and some of our students have already reached their goal of raising $100! You can donate to your student online at one.bidpal.net/walkathon . It's going to be a great day of activities, music, food, and fun!
Announcing our 2019 Maroon & Gold Gala Honorees!
On November 17, St Joes will host the annual Maroon & Gold Gala at The Waterview in Monroe, CT. During the event, St Joseph High School will recognize the contributions of

  • Brian and Brenda Bellows P ’07, ’11, for Dedication as well as

  • Father John Baran '76, for Spiritual Leadership.

During the event, the school will announce an endowed scholarship in memory of Father Baran ’76. Read more about our honorees on the news page of our website .

VOTE EVERY DAY! Junior Cadet, Cayden Porter, Nominated for 2018 Heart of a Giant Award!
We are thrilled to share that Cayden Porter '20 , has been selected as a nominee for the 2018 Heart of a Giant Award, which recognizes Tri-State area high school football players who demonstrate an unparalleled work ethic and passion for the game. 

Cayden is now in the race to be one of the six finalists who will receive $1,500 worth for their high school football program. The grand prize winner will receive $5,000 worth of equipment as well as on-field recognition during a New York Giant’s home game in December.

In order to be selected as a finalist, Cayden will need to earn the most votes - this is where we need your help! You can vote once a day until November 4 th  and can be cast at http://www.usafootball.com/hoagvote .
St Joes Open House Welcomes Nearly 1,000 Guests!
We would like to thank everyone who came out to our Open House on Sunday! The hallways were packed with prospective students and families who learned more about our academic curriculum, clubs and activities as well as our athletics program and new facilities!

A huge thanks to all of St Joseph High School's faculty and staff for coming together and making the Open House a complete success! We couldn't have done it without you!

Cadet Spotlight: Mallory Doyle '22
Last year, SJ Cadet Mallory Doyle '22 entered a contest about the town of Shelton and how much she enjoys living there. Out of 124 entries, Mallory's essay was chosen as a winner!  
 
On October 30, Mallory and all other Connecticut city/town contest winners will be honored at a dinner at the FoxTower. 
 
Shelton’s Mayor will accompany Mallory on stage to accept her award! Congratulations, Cadet!
NEW: Stream St Joseph High School Games on the NFHS Network!
St Joes is proud to announce that we have partnered with the NFHS Network and plan to broadcast some of our athletic events LIVE online. If you or family members can’t make it to the game, the live action can be watched on your phone, tablet, computer, or smart TV.

As part of the partnership, the NFHS Network will return a part of each subscription sold back to St Joes! Joining the NFHS Network is easy - just follow these simple steps!

Marcia Arneson, Math Teacher
Marcia Arneson - aka Mrs A - is a new face at St Joes! She has taught middle school and high school math since 1997. During a period of time when she stayed home with her children, Mrs A tutored Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry and Calculus.

Mrs A was born, raised, and currently lives in Cheshire. She is the youngest of five children and has three children: Grace, 19, Keith, 17, and Katherine, 14. She also has a dog named Leia and two frogs in her classroom named Luke and Laura.

Words she says when things don’t go quite right – “If that’s the worst thing that happens all day, then I’m having a pretty good day.” Welcome to St Joes, Mrs A!
Sasha Russell '01, Assistant Director of Advancement
Social Media & Database Management
Mrs Russell, a proud SJ alumna, began working at St Joes in 2015 as an Information Systems Coordinator before becoming an Assistant Director of Advancement in 2017.

Prior to SJ, Mrs Russell lived in Boston for ten years, where she earned her MA in Applied Sociology from UMass Boston. After grad school, she worked in survey research before teaching Sociology at a local community college. From there, Mrs Russell became the Communications & Development Specialist at the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling - where she first dipped her toes in fundraising and communications. Mrs Russell remained there before moving back to CT with her family in early 2015.

She currently lives in Naugatuck with her husband and two kids and is thrilled to be working at her alma mater.

Donate Gently-Used Clothing to Benefit SJ's Varsity Cheerleaders!
Donate Halloween Costumes to Benefit Bridgeport Rescue Mission!
It's the perfect time for fall cleaning! Gather those gently used clothes, shoes, linens, and handbags and donate them to the Cheer Team's clothing drive! The more pounds of clothing collected, the more funds the team receives!

Clothing can be donated during the homecoming game on Saturday,
October 20 , from 10am - 2:30pm.

The National Honor Society is collecting new or gently-used Halloween costumes or accessories for the Bridgeport Rescue Mission! 

Feel free to donate costumes of all sizes, clothing that can be used as a costume
(like dance or sports uniforms), or any costume accessories.

Items should be brought to the lobby of St Joseph High School before October 24 . Thank you for your support! 
Librarian Recommended: Book of the Week!
In this sequel to the bestseller The Five People You Meet in Heaven , Albom reunites the two main characters from the first novel, Eddie and Annie, with a focus on Annie’s struggles to start a new life after the accident that began Eddie’s journey to heaven.

Annie eventually experiences her own encounter with five special people as she learns her lessons about the meaning and value of both life and death. 

Albom wraps up this heartfelt fable with a totally unexpected twist.
Tuition Raffle & Yearbook Ads On Sale!
Tickets for St Joseph High School's annual Tuition Raffle are now on sale!

Tickets are available in the Advancement Office and at all fall events! Tickets are $100 each and the $15,000 prize can be used toward tuition for any accredited K-12 School, college or university or to pay off student loans. Only 500 tickets will be sold!
