Is Easter too good to be true?

In Luke 24 we read how Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary, mother of James, and the other women are informed by two angels at the tomb that Jesus has been raised. Yet, when they try to explain this to the apostles, they do not believe them.

Later on in that same chapter, we read about two other followers of Jesus who are unable to accept the truth of the resurrection. So distraught by grief and defeat, they fail to recognize the risen savior even as he walks and talks with them.

What is it about defeat and fear that is so consuming, so blinding, that we miss the Good News when it appears right in front of our face?

Join me this Sunday in worship at 9:00 or 11:05 am as we continue the Easter Story and journey with Jesus’ followers on their way home from Jerusalem to Emmaus.

Pax,

Pastor Todd

Once again we'd like to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your continued support and selfless generosity of our Lifeline Fund. In Q1 of 2025 alone we were able to provide nearly $10,300 in assistance that allowed our neighbors to make necessary home repairs, purchase groceries, supported fire relief efforts in California, helped with funeral-related expenses, and supported our Disaster Recovery efforts for a family whose home was destroyed in a recent tornado. None of this would be possible without the caring hearts of each of you that contributed to our fund. Thank you!

We’re thrilled to be featuring our friends and partners at HAAM Social Services (formerly Humble Area Assistance Ministries) in our worship services this Sunday, April 27. Come learn more about their critically-important work in our community to help move our neighbors from dependent to self-sufficient or check them out online here.

HAAM Social Services assists people in 14 zip codes in northeast Harris and east

Montgomery counties including Humble, Atascocita, Kingwood, Porter and the surrounding areas. Learn how you can help by donating, volunteering, and supporting HAAM’s retail stores.
