It’s also an opportunity to build relationships beyond drop-off and pick-up, all in the welcoming space of Rav Claudia’s office (often with yummy snacks!). Consider planning your Wednesday work or errands so you can give yourself this gift of learning. Just one hour a month can bring perspective, connection, and renewal to the middle of a busy week.

From Now through November
Support Lilia Miller's bat mitzvah bakesale!
She says, "After seeing how immigrants have been treated by this administration, I wanted to do something to support them. The Torah portion we’ll read at my bat mitzvah, Chayyei Sarah, also has to do with outsiders and foreigners. There is so much work to do in this area. I chose to support HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) and Make the Road New York because they both do amazing work, so please enjoy my baking and give as much as you can!" October 31, 1:00pm Kiddush Talk: Ready to Turn the World Upside Down: Jewish Women and the Remarkable Achievements of Radical Feminism with Joyce Antler (in person)
Jewish women were instrumental in shaping the women’s liberation movement of the late twentieth century. But historians and participants themselves have neglected their contributions as Jews, a consequence of the women’s focus on gender and ethnic universalism, and the effects of external and internal anti-Semitism, denial, and self-censorship. This talk reveals the deep influence of Jewish background and values upon these fierce pioneers, as well as those who participated in the later Jewish feminist movement that fought gender inequities in Jewish religious and secular life.
