Temple Volunteers

Temple Emanuel has a long history of having a pool of skilled and dedicated volunteers helping us in the Temple - won't you join this revered group?

Your contributions of time and talent are invaluable to us - it's a mitzvah!

Office volunteers are still needed!

We so appreciate those of you who have already offered to help us in the office . . . more now than ever! While we work to schedule and train those who have already indicated their interest, we are still looking to fill a few slots during the week - have time during the day? Let us know!

Enjoy spending time at your Temple? Like engaging with people by telephone and in person? Love office machines and computers?

We would love the chance to talk to you about becoming a front-desk volunteer!

Join this great group of volunteers who help keep Temple Emanuel running!

I-HELP - URGENT NEED

Sundays 2023

*NEW DATES*

Volunteer to Feed the Hungry in 2023!

I-HELP is an acronym for Interfaith Housing Emergency Lodging Program. It is a Tempe Community Action Agency program that partners with several faith communities, clubs, and organizations to combat homelessness. Temple Emanuel is responsible for planning and preparing dinners and lunches for the first two Sundays of each month.

Jim Flegenheimer, Temple Emanuel I-HELP coordinator, is looking for volunteers (specifically, groups of individuals) to cook and serve food (children are welcome, but should be 12 or older) on the following Sundays during 2023. Specific locations in Tempe will be provided by Jim when your volunteer day is confirmed.

Meeting ID: 970 5909 1302   Passcode: Mitzvah

Mavrick Socha will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, June 3, 2023, joined by his proud parents Wendi and Roger Socha, and brother Denver Socha. Mavrick is the grandson of Paul and Phong Socha of Phoenix, Arizona, Marcia and Allen Zatkin of Camarillo, California, and Deanna Ruby of Westlake Village, California. He is also the great-grandson of Evelyn Manoff of Phoenix, Arizona.

Mavrick is currently in the seventh grade at Aspire Academy at Connelly Middle School. He enjoys playing baseball, reading, spending time with his family, and water sports - like tubing.

For his Bar Mitzvah Project, Mavrick volunteered at Ability 360 - a non-profit organization that has a state-of-the-art accessible fitness center. He helped keep score during goalball, wheelchair basketball, amputee basketball, and rugby tournaments. Mavrick also helped kids with disabilities try out track and field activities at an event at the park.

Challah Bakers

Ready to show off your baking skills?

We are looking for volunteers to bake small loaves for our weekly Worship Services!

Plain or flavored loaves are welcome, please just don't mix meat and dairy. (Also, our facility is nut free and please let us know of any potential allergens so we can pass the information along.) Click below for more info and to sign up!

Please Sponsor an Oneg Shabbat!

Our Temple Emanuel Oneg Shabbat dessert receptions are opportunities for our community to come together and enjoy the sweetness of Shabbat with conversation and refreshments every Friday after services.

We invite you to sponsor an Oneg Shabbat in honor of your family and friends. Gather your friends, Chavurot, social groups, committees, clubs, or family to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, weddings, graduations, new babies, a loved one’s accomplishments, or any happy occasion - or just to celebrate being alive!
