By group consensus, we use "The Social Justice Torah Commentary" as the lens through which we discuss each week's Torah portion this year.

Please Note: It is NOT necessary for you to purchase this book as we share the text on screen each week. However, if you would like to own your own copy, please click HERE to purchase your copy directly from the CCAR Press. (The book is also available digitally on Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.)

So, grab a cup of coffee and join us ONLINE at

9:15 am.

(Please Note: This is the same link we use for our weekly ONLINE Shabbat Morning Worship when we do not celebrate with a B'nai Mitzvah family.)

Shabbat Morning Worship

 led by

Rabbi Cookie

Lea Olshein

10:30 am

Live and Interactive on Zoom

*ONLINE ONLY*

Members, please see your weekly Shabbat email for the Zoom link.

During our informal (and interactive) Shabbat Morning worship, we will dig deeper into the meaning of our traditional prayers and liturgical music, while including modern, interpretative versions that will challenge our understanding of our tradition, as well as a short Torah reading.

Each week, we will include a prayer for healing and recitation of the Mourner's Kaddish in case you would like to share your personal prayers for those we love who are struggling and those we have lost.

This service works well for both the inexperienced pray-er as well as those well-versed in our prayer tradition (all liturgy, including English readings and transliteration, will be projected on screen).

When someone in our spiritual community needs help, it takes many hands. Won't you join us in providing needed assistance and support?

Perhaps an individual or family is coping with an injury or illness, is grieving or lonely, or is in need of comfort in some other way.

Some of the ways you can show that you care:

  • Make a phone call
  • Provide a ride
  • Write a card
  • Deliver a meal

Please Sponsor an Oneg Shabbat!

Our Temple Emanuel Oneg Shabbat dessert receptions are opportunities for our community to come together and enjoy the sweetness of Shabbat with conversation and refreshments every Friday after services.

We invite you to sponsor an Oneg Shabbat in honor of your family and friends. Gather your friends, Chavurot, social groups, committees, clubs, or family to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, weddings, graduations, new babies, a loved one’s accomplishments, or any happy occasion - or just to celebrate being alive!

It is a wonderful way to celebrate any special occasion with your Temple Emanuel community!
