We love shawls! Whether you are crocheting or knitting, the promise of a shawl draped around your shoulders is a pleasing image that keep the yarn moving through your hands.

House Down Boots shawl marries a bobble crochet border with a dropped stitch garter and stockinette knit stitch. The pattern is a free download. You'll need two skeins of contrasting colors in Schoppel Boots.

We used Color 2078 Make Hay and Color 2385 Flying Dutchman in our shawl, pictured above, and really like how the dark purple crocheted bobble edge. Multicolor yarns do the work!

Maple Leaves inspired our Maple Magic Yarn Pack that's just right for sock knitting. We only make up a limited number of these packs, so order soon.

Why buy a big cake of yarn like Simpliworsted Spray? Because you can starting working right away -- no winding -- and its one long strand -- no ends to work in.

Wildlife art is another interest for me. I've been sketching a kingfisher, using colored pencil for my work. Over on our Facebook page, you'll find a post with one of my sketches. Amigurumi designer Sonja van der Wijk's kingfisher, Flisby, is a skillful crochet interpretation of this magnificent bird.

We are attaching our 2021 Bee Yarn Ready sticker to every invoice when we ship your order. We ship out orders on Tuesdays and Thursdays. When your order is for $75 or more, the shipping is free.

I hope you get to enjoy an autumn walk soon. We'll be back next week.
