Ah, Labor Day Weekend! At last. Time for a few stray days when we do a change up on every day schedules, maybe watch some football, and start thinking about fall.
I hit a funk in my knitting a few weeks ago and have been picking up various projects. I turn to one, then another — all in an effort to find momentum. I had started a yellow baby cardigan in mid July and laid it aside. That yellow called to me and when I picked up the cardi again, the funk got shrunk!
Maybe you can get around a funk too by working with a favorite color. For me that can be yellow. Lillie’s Little Sweater in golden yellow worsted captures my heart. It’s a top down, clever knit with raglan shaping and a hood. I’m using a stash yarn, but you could find a color of Simpliworsted that calls your name and get started.
There’s a Coffee Shawl in my bags of things to do. It uses Zauberball Cotton and is kind of a no-brainer knit. The shawl design, Reyna by Nora Backlund, is a free Ravelry download. We have lots of colors to choose from and a soft, wool free shawl will always be a welcomed gift.
